"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

When you're going to a party or something with a girl, and it comes time for you to introduce your girl to your friends and stuff, I never know exactly how to do it.

I mean, they always come up to me and say "Hey skinny, is this your girlfriend?" and sinse we've only been dating a few times, I usually don't know what to say but usually something like "no, we've dated".

I mean is it better to be safe and just say that "this is my friend sara" or "this is my date" or "we're dating". Should I try to push the envelope or just play it safe?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I use to say something like:

"This is my friend HB, she's more friend than the others..." (big smile and look at her)

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
Unless you've talked about being mutually exclusive, introduce her as "Sara". You don't need to make any comments about dating or her being your date. It should be obvious.

If someone asks if she's your girlfriend, just respond with something non-committal...

FRIEND: "Is she your girlfriend?"
YOU: "Something like that. (smile)"

lol... nice idea... but be carefull that she doesnt take offence to this and think that your an egotistical prick;) You need to make sure that she KNOWS that u are joking. I'm not saying your tip is bad, its actually quiet good, I'm just emphasising on the importance of making sure that she KNOWS that u ARE saying it in a joking manner:p

This is exectly how you should introduce a girl just as "Sara". You will sound like an insecure little highschooler saying stuff " Yes its my date, or my girlfriend".

Your friends are still immature if they need to resort to " Is this your girlfriend?" question. It should be given that if she is not your relative and you are bringing her with you, that something is going on between the two of you.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Doesn't that sounds kinda week though, like it would leave a confused look on both your date's and your friend's faces.

TOTALLY TRUE. I must be old, I am scratching my head because this is still a problem for so many of you. By the time I was 20, my friends all knew that if you showed up with a girl, by default you're either banging her or trying to. And that she was off-limits.

Unless you introduced her as your sister or something. But then of course she became fair game for all the other swine! ;)

We'd just say, "how ya doing Mike/Joe/Billy/Hoover/Chumpy Stew/Fat Canseco? This is Susan/Heather/Francesca/Lori/Patti/Wendy/insert name here."

The sooner yall train your friends to stop saying that childish "girlfriend" word, the better off you'll be. Because the woman's gonna be out of her element anyway, and nervous, so anything clumsy you might say will rub her the wrong way.

I guess more than "is this your girlfriend" I get the "who's your girlfriend?" particuluary by co-workers at the office. I'm never sure if I should correct him or just say "O, this is Sara, Sara, this is my supervisor/coworker/whatever"

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
