here is the thing about lies, everyone does it, and the reason is because its works, everyone know then that guy lied about getting late, but people lie they belive on his lie.
so you can't just come here and ask about what you think of lies, everyone does, since i'm blunt and tell the truth more often then I should, most people find me annoying, then I learned to make it sound like a joke then I could tell the truth and people would laught or smile and let it go.
you need to tell us how big is the lie, how well you know people lie, and how cool and in control you can be to use it agaisnt the person in a later date

The same way you handle an argument. Be calm and mature, but let them know where you stand. If they want to keep arguing, it's just noise. You have better things to do.
