your at a bar/club and theres a girl getting hit on by guy after guy after guy and you wanna talk to her? How you do you go about doing this without her seeing you as just another guy?

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

Walk up to her and interrupt the conversation:
"Hi I'm <insert your name> umm... where do I take a number?" <smile>

Then walk away - she'll get your attention later on in the night.

There's plenty of ways of opening a conversation with her. Ask her an open-ended question that has nothing to do with the place you're at. One of my favorite lines from hitchikers guide is "Would you like to go for a ride in my spaceship?" Although i'm not recommending it, sometimes it's a funny line to throw into a conversation that'll make her laugh.

"yea baby, porsche makes spaceships now"
