Anyone have any tips, techniques or funny stories on how to pick up girls at house parties?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

how old are you? Getting really drunk IS stupid. You loose all control of thinking straight. The alcohol takes over you and you aint acting right. Plus, other things will happen.... Just drink to get some what drunk. Buzzed or tipsy so you are still aware of wtf is going on and can control your self.

yeah get the other guys drunk first ... and get all the girls
if someone is trying to C*ck block you find the nearest bottle of tequila , and shot glasses and get the other guy drunk, once he's gone (drunk) pull the girl out of his area , and talk to her game her... if she is drunk too pull a mcloving from superbad lol...

Try and talk to everyone, even guys. Dont just focus on one girl there, have at least 3 on the potential list, and just work on them slowly during the night then come 12ish-1ish when everyone should be well drunk focus on one. Always try and remember what you talked about earlier with her, that way you can bring up subjects, girls love talking about themselves.
