"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hey Guys,
Yes, I'm a girl and I NEED your help PLEASE!!!!! I need to know if this guy is interested in me. I've known (of him) but didn't really know him personally for about 3 years. A few weeks ago this guy approached me at a club and said he had been seeing me coming to the shows (we like the same band) and he said he had been wanting to meet me for a long time. He introduced himself and chatted for a bit. The next time I saw him he just walked up to me and hugged me and kind of invited me to come to a concert he was going to but he didn't really ask as a date. Then he just came out and asked me point blank if I was single...and now he's hugging me more and is rubbing his hand down my arm slowly when he talks to me...IS HE INTERESTED IN ME? I'm not sure if he's just wanting to be FRIENDS or he's REALLY INTERESTED.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

hes doing everything to show you hes interested, does he need to write a note to see if you like him back?
guys dont hug people they arent interested in, unless its his mother or grandmother, and then its a completely different hug.

good advice, except I hug my best friend here in ecuador, and my best friend is a she. But generally you are right.

Also, with a name like penkitten, how could you be anything but a girl(unless you're a gay:p)?

THANKS PenKitten!!!! I just wasn't sure cause after he asked if I was single...he said he was too but didn't want a girlfriend. I WAS BAFFLED by that comment...cause I figured guys ONLY ask if you're single if they ARE INTERESTED!!!!! I didn't know what to think...so I'm trying to play it Cool with him and not show TOO MUCH ENTHUSIASM about him yet. But I DO like this guy...so how should I proceed with him?

if neither of you was dating, and she gave you the right signs, wouldnt you start getting the hots for her?

from what i understand, girls can have guy friends that we have never pictured nekkid, however you guys picture every girl nekkid, so of course you have thought of your best friend.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

You don't know if he's interested? what? I almost thought this was fake for a second. I don't want to sound harsh, but try to use a bit of common sense; of course he's interested.

"he said he had been wanting to meet me for a long time. He introduced himself and chatted for a bit", "is he interested?" - no, I think he hates you.

Did he get your number?? If he did he's interested. If he didn't, well ... 1. He's playin' 2. He's not man enough yet.

BTW... What's you number?? ;)

a'ight don't get your panties in a twist, I wasn't being particularly serious when I said that - was just commenting on your post.
I don't care if you stay, actually I think having some women on the board is a good thing.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

The hugging thing seems kind of lame after just meeting you. It's not a very *manly* thing to be doing. Friends hug, lovers hug - but only after being intimate at home plate.

He's a shy guy and needs some help - figures by touching you more you will open up and touch him back. You need to encourage him to ask you out - getting him over that shy hurdle.

He likes you. Now it is your job to make it BLATANTLY obvious you like him.

Liking the same bands really means ALOT in compatibility and persona.

Just do your girly, flirty thing make sure you touch him to let you know you like him. Make things easy for him.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Hypothetically, if I were to think of her as you say, would that automatically make me into some chauvinistic pig?

But do girls not picture any guy friends naked?

I do touch him and hug him and I always kiss him on the cheek when I leave. Wouldn't that let him know that I am interested in him?

Uh .. Yeah! What is with all this cheek pecking and hugging BS. Our society is becoming more feminized like France (scary)!

I would've definitely asked you out by now and formally had you done the same to me.

I think this guy needs to read some Non-Juan in the tip section.

I can see two indicators of interest:
1. He asks you if u have a boyfriend
2. Rubs your arm.
Maybe he´s just being polite, but i think that would be too much coincidence. I wish you good luck with this guy!!!!

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
