Once I was in a bar in Tijuana with a buddy. I had just ordered two beers, and handed a twenty to the waiter, turned back to continue talking to my friend, and when I looked back at the waiter he had quickly switched my 20 for a dollar bill, he had a totally innocent look on his face. gotta hand it to him for being ready to scam a dumb ass gringo...

another time I was in Hong Kong, and my watch happened to break. so i asked the hotel desk where a watch shop was. I was out wandering around lost and some guy popped out of an alley and said "hey, need a watch?" and I as like, "uh, yea, actually I do, whatcha got?"

I ended up buying a fake rolex for $50. Which served me well for about a year and a half.

funny part was the guys name was Carlos.

another time I had a teacher in Junior FVCKING high school that ran a scam on the whole class. he was an end of the year sub, and collected money to buy a gift for a student that was in the hospital (this part was true)

then he said he would take one of hte students to the hospital with him, but he would draw a name at random, and only the chosen student would be notified. I though this was kind of wierd until I thought about it a couple years later...

BUT, the best scam I ever heard of, (not this thread I know but still pretty funny) was an australian dude about 10 years ago. They put an ad in a magazine for a 6 hour porno tape for only ten bucks. You sent your money in, and then three or four weeks later, you'd get a letter saying "yea, we're sorry, but we can't sell porno over the mail, here's your ten bucks back" but it was on a company check that said something like "sheep A$$ fvckers and horse sperm swapping midget fecal freaks". And most guys would be like, "um, yea, tearing that check the fvck up...." and the scamming guy could keep the cash free and clear.

I got hustled by A Black guy for $20 a few years ago. I was curious and sorta felt sorry for him - my own weakness. But, not after that! I learned my lesson well and that was the LAST time I ever got scammed by one. Even though I get approached by one in the streets about once every few months still. And sure enough, everytime it's, "Hey man, blah blah blah, you got any money???"

A fool and his money are SOON PARTED! So, don't be a fool!

Um, racial generalizations =/= racism. It only becomes racism when they are false, over-exaggerated or you take them as absolutes.

For example, "Black people generally have kinky hair."

That is a racial generalization. But it is not racism. Learn the difference, please.

Obviously, not all Blacks are hustlers. That is just a broad generalization - that applies mostly to the Black ghetto subculture. As in scruffy Black guys you'd randomly meet in the streets.

But I have to say, I have never been approached in such manners by ANY other race of men - ONLY Black men. So, don't blame me for that. Hence, I formed the generalization. It is simply based on my actual life experiences (and not just here, but in other countries, as well), sorry. This same game is run all over the world - and corroborated by Ken's experiences here too. But again, it is ONLY a generalization - NOT an absolute.

But naive Whitebread kids from the burbs do need to at least be prepared for this before they step in the hood - otherwise they will get easily took like Ken. It's just a different culture with different mores. Look, pickpocketing is really bad in Barcelona. That's even an official travel advisory for any tourists going there. But, I guess in your view, that would be "racist" and thus should not be announced?
