Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

She writes:

I am very sorry you feel that way. Clearly as that is how you view things this is for the best. I must admit since we have stopped talking I feel a weight is off my shoulders and like I can relax. I do hope you do well in your future and find happiness. I also hope that you are well and have good health as from the things you have mentioned recently it must be quite a concern. I am going to delete your contact details now. I would appreciate it if you did the same.

I write:

Consider it already done
Good luck (her name), I hope you find in life the success you're looking for.
No hard feelings, it was a rollercoaster ride but a very interesting one. x

Any comments anyone?
Thanks

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'd be interested in knowing what the texts were leading up to that long text she sent...

The OP is asking an entire forum whether he doesn't care enough?

It means he cares too much. But its hard not to after a breakup. I really hope he doesn't respond to her last attempt at grabbing his attention and telling him what to do.

Too late mate! I'd already done it by then.

Yeah I get the principle, if you have to ask the question then you aren't detached from her.
The ideal position would be that I don't give a f**k what she thinks or whether I ever hear from her again

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Here, silence is either indifference or butthurt.

I'll just delete her from all platforms and move on because I know I can do better.

This is too non-misogynistic for SS nowadays but I'd respond the same way. Too many people make relationships too personal when they don't work out instead of taking a step back and seeing whether you were ever truly compatible or not.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Yep, hard for her to dispute it and it lets her know that you aren't bitter and/or upset about it and will be fine. If i am ending a relationship I try and make these my last words to her before I vanish...

You could even use it if she dumps you first..

"Yeah I have been doing some thinking and was thinking that we may not be a good long term fit. So this will be for the best. It's been fun though, you are a good person, and I wish you well.. Take care."

Sure not every relationship will work out. Whatever the case, just move on. She probably cried for about 7 minutes and got hooked up with the 4th guy in her Galaxy to be thinking about you anyway.

Hell, she won't care if you're bitter or not. Just remember that you can always do better than her.
