"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hey guys. I just had a quick question: I met a girl 3 weeks ago at my work's happy hour, and she is very shy but very, very cute. I got her number the night I met her, and have called her various times (always within 4-5 day increments, never two days in a row) about hanging out or meeting up, etc. Every time I call her, she either picks up or calls me back immediately. But over the past 3 weeks that I have known her, she has never initiated a call (i.e. called out of the blue to see if I wanted to hang out). Do you think this is b/c of a lack of interest, or is it b/c she wants me to do all the initiating? I am thinking the latter, b/c every time we meet up she seems interested in talking to me only, and is always happy to return my calls. But I guess I am just curious if anyone else had run into the same problem with past women, b/c I don't want to be some annoying bastard she has no interest in, but is only answering b/c she is too nice and shy to do anything else.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Sounds like the latter. A girl who is not interested would simply not pick up the phone when they see your number on caller ID, yet alone return your call. She's just shy. Nothing to worry about.

Most likely it is because she is shy and she wants to play the girly/feminine part by having you initiate, and be the agressor, etc. That is your role.

It is also your role to make sure you are getting together with her and stop it with all this calling back and forth. Why haven't you asked her to get together. If you have, what are the reasons she gives you for not making it happen.

The longer you wait, the more likely somebody more agresive will make a stronger move.

Gangster is right. Never spend more than a few minutes at a time on the phone.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
