I've been fired from jobs for poor job performance during their probationary period; never for any bad behavior, but it's never a good feeling.

It's been estimated that one out of three businesses which fail, fail because of employee theft. The estimates are that employee theft is a $10-80 billion a year "industry", which would be upwards of three times the size of the oil industry. Just yesterday I was trying to verify someone's loss of income and discovered not only were they fired from their employer for stealing but that they were out on bail for felony grand theft, presumingly from their job. So yeah, no wonder why you weren't let off the hook, it's a systemic problem which employers face.

The job will show up for any job that you apply for in which the company performs a background check.

are u sure that it shows up on background checks? i was looking online and it dosent say anything about that....they told me that my name wont show up on those private companies that keep track of theft because it was theft for under $5.00....but has anyone else been fired and does anyone know it will say that i was fired from this job when a future employer does a background check on me? or would it just say i left the company

did u mention those jobs that u were fired from on ur resume?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

That depends how long you worked there and what was the reason for termination of employment. If you put that on the resume they might want refrences to call and check. If I were you I wouldn't mentioned I worked there.

As for you getting fired the circumstances are kind of strange since they never presented to you with any kind of proof. I wouldn't worry too much about affecting your future since there were never any charges pressed against you to the police and that's how you get a record. The police is too busy to charge someone taking a $5 bottle so therefore the matter has been solved internally within the company. You can pretty much apply for a new job anywhere but this company.
