Finding out if she still has a boyfriend

I met a girl in May through some friends. She said she had a boyfriend when I asked her out and I gave her my standard response "let me know when you break up".

I ran into her a few times since then and she always gave good body language. I saw her again last week and this time she seemed to amp up the flirting. Holding EC, asking friends about me, some teasing, and she texted me last week but I cut the convo short.

General consensus is to never ask directly if there's a boyfriend. I usually assume there isn't one with a chick if she's flirting with me, and I just ask her out. If she has one, that's when she usually mentions it.

I don't see the big deal in me asking her directly if they are still dating. She already knows I'm interested since I asked her out a few months ago.
