For quite a while, I have been hyping up the value of daygame and how I rather do that than be "one of the guys" playing golf and chugging beer over the weekends. Well, I finally had a weekend where that got tested.
After what was a fun as heck Saturday, I get hit up by my wing to daygame on Sunday. I had a ton on my mind with my company announcing last week that they are reducing headcount and seeing a few coworkers I was with get let go. Couple that in with some stress of medical appointments and feeling drained from everything (including a wild Saturday), I was not at my best. Still, I got a nice workout in and headed out to daygame with my boy.
I arrive at a spot we love to go to and notice immediately how much quality there was. For some reason, I froze up and didn't really approach. I just listened to music and got a bottle of water because it was over 90 degrees and I was exhausted. Get in line at the local 711 and noticed that the clerk was pissed off at everyone because of how a herd had formed instead of a line. Starts yelling at me for not listening to her and then I say screw it, just get to where she needs to me to so I can pay for the freaking water. Get in and it was a drink much needed!
Finally, my wing showed up and we took a lap around. My wing was busier than usual, probably doing a few approaches as I stood by. I missed a couple of opportunities that my wing capitalized on instead. I was feeling it, dammit Pinkman, do the freaking approach already. I approach a woman who was waiting for a ride and it didn't go all that well, she was nice but the ride was actually her family including a mom in the passenger seat that gave me the old stink eye.
We keep going and I approach a Latin girl sitting down. We chatted for a solid minute but then she tells me she flies back to NYC tomorrow. I could have done more with it but being that I am still somewhat new, I say screw it. I could have gone for the close but then didn't.
I approach another woman standing around on her phone with cute reading glasses but she is the typical Miami Argentinian, stuck up and gives me the typical Latina rejection where they smile at you and say "thank you" or "have a nice day". What's weird is that she was actually a natural redhead with freckles with a tall and skinny body.
Things were going somewhat alright and the women had been nice. Then I approach this one blonde with sunglasses, going direct as I do. So far, it is my best approach of the entire day and she is receptive to everything, even laughing at what I say. She was Russian. I walk with her and everything but then notice as I am walking, an old guy gets right between us. I look confused on what is happening until he turns to me and says "that's my wife!" with an angry scowl on my face and a group of people around us.
I've rarely had this happen so I say "sir, I am sorry for that" and walk away but then he walks me down and says "how sleazy!". Guy shouts at me as a handful of people look on and my day is already rough as is. I look back and turn around as this dude is raging, shame had overcome me.
So I breathe and pause, make eye contact and stare at the man who is now following me. "I should report you to the police!" he looks at me, angrily pointing his finger as I had turned around. I say in a calm tone "when you said she was your wife, I apologized, what more do you want me to do?". The dude angrily responds saying "not talk to women you don't know", loudly. Now other people are looking on, including a group of black dudes who are laughing hysterically and I am afraid that I have security called on me.
My wing comes over and backs me up, says to the guy "hey buddy, it was a mistake". The guy is still angry and raging mad at me but he walks away, still staring at me angrily. I stare in bewildered amusement but then try to process what had happened. I was do direct, so straightforward, and showed clear intent that I was into this woman but she never told me she was married. It shows me a new appreciation for women that are married now and let you know ASAP. My wing tells me "yeah dude, I had thought of approaching her earlier but she was with him but I saw her all into you and even grabbing your shoulder so I decided not to intervene". I was as confused as him.
The outcome?
Not fun at all, obviously. First experience I have had after doing daygame for months which was just awful. However, as bad as it would have been, your boy is not going to play Golf on weekends or chug beers with normies. Jesse Pinkman games on! So much to learn though, I could have been more selective in approaching here.
Rough weekend though!
