This was a great post bb. Gives me a moment to self-assess on these three habits.
1. Fapping and porn. I've noticed it can be habit-forming. The less I fap, the less I think about it. Sometimes I'll go more than a week without a release and say to myself, "I should probably make time for that tonight." Ha. Other times I've been in the every-day habit, which I don't think is good. As for porn, it used to be an indulgence, but today online it is something that will rewire your brain. You used to have to find a way to get your hands on a nudie mag. You had to leave your house and interact with people to do this; Playboys didn't just pop up under your mattress. I heard a statistic recently that more young Americans would choose a computer over a car, given the choice. Imagine that - having a car gives you all kinds of freedom and opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex. Having a computer gives you instant access to two-dimensional images of all variety. It's junk food for the brain and glands, and I do my best to avoid it.
2. Junk food. I'm pretty good about this. I live in NYC where fast food is terrible. Whenever I'm outside the city I'll indulge in fast food because it's clean and customer-friendly LOL. I stay away from deep fried crap though. I don't eat much red meat, and I definitely use more olive oil than butter. My breakfasts are protein and fruit smoothies. My kryptonite is salty snacks, chips and salsa, or potato chips....and cheese. And I put sugar in my coffee which is the kiss of death so I'm trying to substitute with honey or agave. However I'll add that I cook 80% of the time and buy a lot of fresh stuff. I drink wine, beer during summer, but I detest hangovers so I'm always careful not to overdo it. I do have a high tolerance though.
3. Social media. I'm not on FB or Twitter. I use Wordpress to blog which is technically social media, but it at least feels constructive.
These are more pitfalls than horsemen but that's just semantics. They're easy traps to fall into if you're not careful.
