Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

as i've posted before, im still actively getting over this shyness problem..so i like to post experiences i have and new things that i learn.

today i went to this mma club around my house to get some information. i walked in and the receptionist greeted me..i assumed she was in her 20's from the way she looked..pretty hot. anyways, she keeps talking to me and trying to start a conversation, and in the back of my mind in thinking (wtf, im only 17 why is she talking to me like this)...because of this, and because of old habit, i didnt really say much, and i started feeling a little nervous. i could tell she was intersted. i kept talking to her and found out shes my age.

before i found out about her, in my mind i was attatching meaning to just plain things i observed, such as the way she looked and her age, without knowing the facts. i assumed because she looked older, she wouldnt be interested. things like this happen everyday to us...maybe somebody forgot to call you when they said they would, then you attatch meaning to that and assume they dont like u, or they dont care, when in reality something totaly different might have happened like they slept in or they just plain forgot :) .

i noticed in my life i was always attatching negative meanings to situations where i didnt know the facts...and this can damage us.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I have been told the same thing by others regarding the labeling of subcultures. However, I still would not dare speak to an "Emo" girl because, while I do not dislike them personally, I dislike what they represent. Sometimes labelling will interfere no matter what.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
