Does this sounds right? USPS shipping..

A package mailed out of Tampa, FL 11-05.. Zone 1 Parcel Post.. It was going to Summerland Key, FL, that's down south, past Miami, and towards Key West..

I got delivery confirmation number, and when I enter it, yesterday, 11-08, it said it arrived to Jacksonville, FL for processing..

So, instead of mailing the package South, they send it North to process it..


Does this sound right to you? Is the process that they use to send packages, or something is wrong with that package?



On a contrary, I've send 11-06 first class parcel to Bristol, CT.. The guy got it 11-08.. Then I send zone-8 first class parcel to Flagstaff, AZ.. The guy got it yesterday as well..

it took 3 days for one package and 2 days for two other packages. terrific.

Yes, it's perfectly normal.

There is probably a huge sorting center there. If there are already trucks going from Tampa to Jacksonville, and from Jacksonville to Summerland, why not use them for your package?

Same for private services. If you FedEx something from Houston to New Orleans, you will find that it goes through the massive company headquarters in Memphis.

I guess I was thinking he meant way up north. I had that happen once, and it turned out to be a mistake.

Well yea, Jacksonville is way up North.. I had the guy tell me that he received package today.. But check this out, 2 packages from Tampa to CT and AZ in 2 days.. This one from FL to FL in 5 days..
