Does taking the bus instead of owning a car make a man a "loser"?

I was watching this video about Portland, OR, and the narrator made this point:

... where I grew up in Los Angeles, nobody rode the bus or the train ... the bus when I was kid in Southern California was referred to as the 'Loser Cruiser' ... if you're a dude riding the bus, it really acted as a form of birth control at the same time ... no one was hooking up with you if you rode the bus ...

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Hypergamy. If most women have their own cars, why would they date down to a guy who doesnt own his own car?

It depends on the city. A man doesn't need a car in a place like New York City or London to get laid.

In a car centric Sun Belt region city in the USA, most women (especially White women) would expect a man to own a car in order to go on a date with him or have sex with him.

Not in the least and don't let anyone demean you. Do what makes most sense for you. If you lived in a happening city like NYC there would be no point and public transportation makes sense.

I travel out of Miami a lot so it's the reason I have a car. Public T would be kind of a pain in the ass (I used to take for several years early part of my 20s)

In a sense it does, because you have less, you are dependant on the whim of public transport.

It didn't stop me from getting laid or getting gf's, simply because I didn't allow it. It probably affected the quality of my Gf's when I was younger though. Same applies to anything in life, depends on the person.

It should be every young mans goal to learn to drive and buy a car asap, for the freedom if nothing else.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

In my area (western washington), you pretty much are a loser if you don't have a car and don't live in downtown seattle. Public transport in the general area is terrible.

50 Cent once wondered if he could get laid if he were a bus rider near the end of "21 Questions". If 50 was flipping burgers at Burger King and riding the bus, I think he would have still gotten laid.

Depends where they live but in most cases, I'd say he isn't doing himself any favors. Going to be an uphill climb for him.

Unless it's NYC where it's very common for people to not have cars and just use the subway mainly.

50 Cent is my favorite rapper of all time and the Get Rich or Die Trying album is a classic.

Funny you mention "21 Questions" because that is probably my least favorite song on the entire album.

Too cheesy, too pop.

Get Rich or Die Trying album is a classic.
"Get Rich or Die Tryin'" came out in February 2003, which was my sophomore year of college. Multiple songs off of "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" were everywhere around my sophomore and junior years of college. Since I was a college student with few responsibilities in life at the time, I was paying attention to the popular music of that moment.

It was clear in 2003 that the album was an instant classic. 20 years later, my initial impression of it was correct.

In the book world, it was clear in 2013 that "The Rational Male" was an instant classic too.

Funny you mention "21 Questions" because that is probably my least favorite song on the entire album.

Too cheesy, too pop.

I had to mention "21 Questions" here because the lyric was about getting laid if he were a bus rider.

"In Da Club" was the first big single that was everywhere.

That's what's up.

Feb 2003 I was a senior in high school and 50 Cent was the next big wave after the Cash Money thing started to die down.

One day my cousin was mumbling the hook to "Wanksta". The hook was catchy but I didn't know who 50 was.

I asked him who made the song and he said 50 Cent.

I was unimpressed with the actual lyrics to the song and that was that.

But immediately after that, 50 Cent became the talk of the school (and hip hop in general).

There was this dude that sold burnt CD's and approached me like "Ay man, I got that 50 Cent, I selling it for $5".

Since 50 was buzzing I bought it.

I played it on my CD player, and once I heard the second track "What up Gangsta", (the first track was the flipping coin intro), I was hooked.

Every track was a SMASH (21 Questions did well commercially).

It was clear in 2003 that the album was an instant classic. 20 years later, my initial impression of it was correct.
Hell yeah.

I had to mention "21 Questions" here because the lyric was about getting laid if he were a bus rider.
I know, I just went off on a tangent lol.

"In Da Club" was the first big single that was everywhere.
Yuppp.

It's wild to think that 2003 was 20 years ago. It's amazing that college was going on for me 20 years ago and I was thinking about getting poontang on campus. This thread was going on then in my life.

If you have put some work into your game. There will be attractive women that are DTF even if you ride the bus.

Hi MDJ,
"Does taking the bus instead of owning a Car make you a loser?...In this Country generally Yes,but then
maybe not all the time...A Dancing acquaintence took the Bus as the Gendarmes had scrubbed his license....He hooked up with a gorgeous Dame on the scene,I said to him once,he had done very well for himself,he shared that yeah,he had fallen on his feet, turned out this Bird got her jollies driving a vintage Aston Martin Sports car, owned and maintained by her Dad,enjoyed dropping the lid, donning a garish scarf and whizzing round the Country side with it blowing in the breeze....This guy had a dancing partner with benefits just for playing the Toy Boy...Maybe not Clint Eastwoods style, but perhaps he thought a bangs a bang LOL.
