ugly girls definitely get the raw deal in life. they MIGHT be able to have sex whenever they want but probably not with anyone they'd show off to their friends and even those guys will treat them like crap afterwards and forget about them... treat them like beergoggle anomalies....

but hot girls develop a COMPLEX.... that they are valued only for their looks. sure, they have thousands flocking to them every time they go out but that starts to f with their minds... that nobody really wants to get to know them, nobody cares about who she is as a person, they only want her because of how she looks. EVERYBODY has an ulterior motive.
this is indeed... fact. but if you're the object of it day in and day out, in EVERY conceivable social situation... i can imagine it gets tiring.
also, having too many options is not necessarily a good thing either.... makes you highly likely to be unsatisfied with EVERYTHING.... becoming so nitpicky that you'll end up miserable instead of happy with what you end up settling down to.
as for how easy it might be for hot chicks to have sex.... well, society DOES have a tendency to PUNISH highly sexual females.... even in this day and age.... so they might be able to satisfy their urges easily but it comes with a social and psychological price.
actually, this punishment probably comes from males who think it's so unfair for hot chicks to have so much power.... so we get our revenge too.....

if someone's got a gun pointed at your heart, no matter how much you believe that gun doesn't have the power to kill you, if that gun goes off, you're dead.
some stuff is psychologically subtle and perception plays a part.... other things will have "mechanical" consequences regardless of anybody's belief about anything.
an attractive girl's power is indeed based on perception but your personal denial of it will not diminish it - UNLESS you can convince every other guy in the world to follow suit.
if not, you may not fold under her but the fact remains that she knows that you're just a needle in the haystack and there's plenty more where you came from. that's power.

I think your best bet is to admit to yourself they have power(no point in denying it) and just work within that framework the best way you know how. Just like the guy that has way more money than you, there is no point in hating him or trying to out spend him, just try to befriend him and maybe you'll get some benefits from it..

i think you're defining power purely as the ability to "EXERT INFLUENCE"... but another way to look at it is the ability to "DETERMINE OR EFFECT A DESIRED OUTCOME" or more simply "TO GET DONE WHAT YOU INTEND TO DO". the first can be dependent on perception but as noted, unless you can get everyone to agree with you, perception plays only immunize yourself and does nothing to reduce the power of the powerful in a general sense. the second sense - the guy with the gun, nuclear weapon (why we're so keen on iran not getting the bomb btw) is less (at times FAR LESS) susceptible to what anybody thinks about it....
