Eugene Lang College will be offering a class in the fall that is based around the belief that women should get paid for “emotional labor” and doing chores around the house.

The course, called “Love and Currency,” is based on Silvia Federici’s 1975 essay “Wages Against Housework.”

“Wages for housework is only the beginning,” Federici writes, explaining that husbands should “pay us . . . not one wage, but many wages, because we have been forced into many jobs at once.”

‘They say it is love, we say it is unwaged work.’

“Many forms of labor, which are often not recognized as labor, fall along lines of gender, race and class,” it continues. “Whether changing nappies and washing an endless build of up dishes, caring for elderly and infirm family members, working multiple jobs without legal protection, or bearing up under everyday sexual harassment, constricting gender norms and systemic racism, invisible labor is exhausting.”

my opinion: So men are supposed to "man up" to this?

sure since that is teh case I think we should also discount, boarding and housing, utility usage, and certainly any other bill she make the dude pay, I alwyas find it funny people saying that, you never do consider what you are getting, in the end it would be far more cheaper to pay a house keeper and do it with prostitutes

though if someone consider taking baths and brushing teeths as labor, he really have some serious issues and all this crap shouldn't be even considered serious

I'd tell her no problem. Plenty of women will fvck me for free, I've got a spending freeze in place.

But you only need to pull this tactic if your wife is not physically attracted to you anymore or thinks you have no options. Neither is the case with me.

I will say this:

If the husband is working while the wife stays home to raise kids and take care of the house, and that is by design, then they have some sort of partnership. So she certainly should have her own money to do with as she wishes, just as the guy should. Obviously this would come out of the husband's paycheck, since he has the only income. It's only fair. Hopefully there is enough to pay the bills and save/invest for the future, as well as have a little luxury here and there. But for there to be an itemized bill for services, no, that's ridiculous.
