I've been watching the weightlifting competition at the Rio Olympics, where at the lowest weight classes, the competitors are all short Asian men - yes, definitely in extraordinary physical condition that most should consider "he-man", but still short & compact, as in no more than 160 cm tall and under 60 kg (the weight class is 56 kg, but they typically drop 4 kg in dehydration when competing). As weightlifting is my old sport (i.e., as an American-style powerlifter, not Olympic style), this is my favorite summer sport to watch (along with women's rhythmic gymnastics
), and being at 165 cm and also strongly V-shouldered (although without the ultra-super leanness
), I wonder if these men also get rejected a lot by hypergamous heightist women, even though they have the cachet of being at the highest level of sport competition, albeit one that is a bit obscure.
