I'm in college and my dorm house is having a "dinner with the deans" night where we're supposed to dress formal and eat and meet the deans or whatever. I don't know HOW this will help me but I'm sure having connections and making a good impression can help you somehow...anyways, I was just wondering if you guys had any tips or anything like that. What would you do

We did that at my school. I made sure to get the seat right next to the head honcho. I made an effort to know about him before hand and ask questions about him. When he got up, I stole his chocolate cake.
