I am aiming to gain some more weight (I am 6 foot and 180lbs, and want to get up to a solid 190lbs by the end of this year)
Unfortunately I cannot handle milk which I always used to use for gaining as it messed up my complexion. As I am a busy man I also do not have too much time for cooking and cannot afford to eat out often.

Can anyone recommend some good snacks and meals which are high in calories and protein?

Right now I'm eating sheppards pie and vege's. mmmmm.

Listen, it's more about the timing of your food than anything else. I could eat a huge cake and still not gain fat. I could do it everyday. Why? Cause I'd time it so that it's before a heavy workout/long distance run.

A big factor in the reason for being able to eat "a big cake" as you say, is because you are only 18.... your metabolisim is alot faster then of those who are only 2 years older than you.

Time will tell DJB.. just remember.. hehe.. enjoy all those goodies now... coz, in years to come.. you will be able to enjoy less, and less.... it is our destiny lol

Alright, not a huge cake, but if it's a home-made cake with just a fair amount of sugar - you'd burn off a hell of a lot of sugar during your rush, which means it wont get stored as fat. Whereas if you had that cake before bed, you'd store a lot more as fat.

and you know what? now you've mentioned that, I think I'll have my cheat day today... mmmmm.... a nice big plate of lamb madras, onion bahji's, naan bread.... MMM :D
