"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

well my friends... it is that time.

my first true gf.

I am used to working my way up the hill and conquering foes in order to reach the hilltop. unfortunately, most of the time, I become disinterested in the girl and say she is not worth it.

I found someone who is worth it. Super cool, hott, virgin, common interest, intelligent, etc. I worked my way all the way up the hill and now I am on top.

Now comes a new challenge. Defending the hilltop. I have no idea how to thwart enemies to my game. You would think I would have a good idea of how to defend, being the attacker for so long. BUT NOPE LOL!

I dont want to be the typical "jealous" type, but then again it is male instinct to want to just crack skulls when other guys come into the picture hitting on your gf. I mean... she's hott, so it will happen, and a lot. how do you handle it?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Here's how I handle it. (my girlfriend gets hit on a lot)

I don't let it bother me. It shows confidence. But, ask questions to show you do care. Just don't get jealous.

My girlfriend is very protective, so am I. I just ask questions (mainly to reassure me haha) and let her know I that I care about her. That keeps here with me...

I have no idea what AMOG is, but I always try to emit the "alpha male" aura and act like no one is a threat to me. but honestly, you have to admit you would feel a bit threatened.

friendliness means dismissing their attempt with pity friendliness?

for dates i'll say "now you two would make a good couple" after subtly making somewhat of a goof of the situation and the guy approaching her (there are several ways to do this easily without even talking to the guy or going crazy with "AMOG"ing) and it has yet to fail me, although i do hate using the same thing more than a few times lol

but a GIRLFRIEND is awhole diff ballgame i guess, idunno i havent reached that hilltop yet with someone i actually care that much about lol

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
