"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I am a graduate student living in a co-ed graduate dorm. There is a girl who lives on the 5th floor (I am on the third) whom I am very attracted to.

The thing is, dating someone in a close knit community (where there is alot of drama and everyone knows your business) is a little too close for comfort.

Has anyone been in this situation before?

Do you keep it light (watch a movie together, just hook up) or try and date her (dinner, museums, etc.) like you would in a normal situation.

The problem with this environment is: All of the rules in normal dating etiquette (when to call etc, see each other again) are different in a dorm or work setting (since you will most likely run into the person quite often)

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I've been in this. It's "okay" as long as your friends don't know her friends.

Otherwise, you're screwed when things turn for the worse. Which they will at some point when you dump her or you get dumped.

Your best bet is to make friends with this chick and if she's got any cute girlfriends (which are SOMEWHERE ELSE) and use her for her connections.

Otherwise you're playing Russian roulette with your social proof if you go for a chick this close. And social proof and reputation is VERY IMPORTANT so be super-careful or don't do it in the first place.

I do see your point, but I forgot to mention...it is my last semester (I am done in December) and I should just go "balls to the wall".

Oh WELL!! In THAT CASE!!

OOOOHHHH The Possibilities!!

You can do whatever the hell you WANT! ANYTHING!! With ANYONE!

You're NEVER going to see alot of these people again!

Party it UP! One chick a night, two chicks a night, three chicks at the same time.... WHATEVER!

Who's going to care? By the time word spreads around about you, you'll be LONG GONE with a big smile on your face.

The possibilities are ENDLESS because: You don't have to face ANY consequences. By the time they catch up, you won't be there to face them!

Keep in mind if you break up with her it could feel awkward if you see her. Thats the problem with close net communities like the workplace.

Yea, there is this 19 year old who approached me the other day, but she was giggling and being stupid with her friend.

She either A:

1.) Wants some action from an older guy
2.) Is a total tease and just looking to get attention.

Anyways, I know a 29 year old trying to hook up with a 19 year old is frowned down upon, but hell it is legal!!!
