Basically people of Crimea showed middle finger to Ukraine and separated from it. Today, the 16th of March, they voted and become an independent country. Now if Russia approves, they will become a state under Russian Federation.

West, in particular United States, has a problem with a referendum like that. They say all of Ukraine should have decided the fate of Crimean people, and that it is not up to Crimean people to decide their own fate. (it is like if Texas wanted to separate from United States, it wouldn't be enough for all Texans to vote for separation, all of United States had to vote as well, approving their decision).

So, what about Venice, Italy. It too is holding a referendum, and the people of Venice are voting, people of Italy have no say.

Notice I'm not even bringing up Kosovo.

WTF west? WTF United States? WTF did you smoke? :kick:

P.S. If your TV told you Ukraine is against Crimea separating, your TV lied to you. People in Ukraine prevented tanks from moving towards Crimea. Ukrainian army on territory of Crimea joined the populous. Ukrainian fleet fled to Sevastopol (capitol city of Crimea, and a large sea port). Ukrainians do not support western coup in Ukraine and Neo-Nazis that come to power. More of Ukraine will separate from itself, I think.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

According to Obama & Co., all of Russia would have to vote in favour of Chechnya's separation. At least that's the standard they seem to apply to Crimea. Of course, a different set of rules applies when a region supported by the U.S. decides to separate from a country that is not-so-friendly with the U.S. (the breakup of Yugoslavia an obvious example). "International law" is a funny thing.

Because joining the EU worked out great for Ukraine's neighbours, Bulgaria and Romania. lol oh wait...

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

well those two countries weren't exactly models of economic development before they joined the EU either
And joining the EU did nothing to change that.
