Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I've been very judgemental when it comes to using canned openings, but I now feel that customized canned material would make certain approaches easier. I consider myself an observationist and I build my game upon that foundation, but there are times when I just can't build upon what a 'target' is displaying.

Below are some schitty arse openers that just came to my head. Please share some of your material.

canned shyt:

1) Hey aren't you (so and so's) cousin?
HB: no I'm not
me: We'll you look just like my friends cousins......fluff converse about friends cousin (how wild how whatever she is.....) Transition the conversation back to her, transition- to us, then go for the "kill" --attempt to instant date--

2) Pointing at the girl-- "you were at ___(venue, bar, club) last week"
HB:NO--
ME: BS fluff and use the same formula from above-- you look so much like this girl that was--- blah n blah -- use her reaction to choose the direction of the conversation.

That's all I could think of at the moment. critique.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Dude do you have trouble opening with these?
Lines like the ones you have there are quite difficult to say.

This is partly because you know they are lies , so they are hard to deliver congruently.

In any case do you really wanna be a guy who is that desperate to talk to a girl that he pretends to know her from someplace.

You can use a canned direct line if you want. That sa\ves you the drama of thinking up something to say , but doesn;t have the same 'slimy' vibe of a prepared opener.

Some guys I sarge with open with "youre cute , what's your name" but you don't have to be that direct.

There's lots of good stuff on this in Juggler's E book or in Swingcats "Art of Opening" on this but ultimately it's best to find an opener that fits your personality.

The problem is that even if you try to customize it with a name or place, it's still the same old "I've seen you before" line that has been used by every single guy on every single girl since the time of Alcibiades. Tweaking one little aspect of it doesn't really hide that fact. They will see right through it to the fact that you just don't have anything better to say.

It's better to spend your time improving stuff that already works rather than trying to salvage stuff that doesn't (at least, not consistantly).

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
