"Blank Mind on Dates? She's Dropping Hints You Keep Missing"

The plates get cleared and the silence lands like a brick. You can feel her waiting. Your brain offers up your commute, your job, the weather — topics that have ended more second dates than bad breath.

Here's what most guys never learn: women hand out free conversational material all night long. Tiny clues about what they actually want to discuss. Catch them and you never run out of things to say — because she's telling you what to say next.

Rule 4 of the "22 Rules" trains your ear to catch every single one.

Cologne is a crucial asset to any budding dj. But most guys don't know which colognes or the proper way to apply them. A spray on your clothes doesn't do the trick, or walking through a cloud of it you sprayed in front of you.

So much emphasis is applied to phermones and where you can get products with them that most people have never realized they emit them.

Cologne sprayed onto your chest and neck, on bare skin mix with your phermones to create a fragrance all your own when you naturally perspire or just through daily life.

The best cologne out right now is Mark Jacobs hands down. I read an article about it in Maxim and decided I'd check it out. A spray or 2 on your chest with an open express shirt and your pure money with the ladies. Always get compliments, and asked what your wearing because it's a little less common then Coolwater, Aqu di Gio etc.

Always remember to apply it to your skin, not your clothes. Saturday night I was told I smelled delicious :D

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Well, as you said the perfume mixes with the stuff on your skin to create the final smell.

But since everybody has a different body chemistry, some fragrances might smell differently on you compared to when someone else is wearing them.

A cologne can tell something about a person, just like your clothes. So it should be chosen with equal care.

Also, I always check with the people working at the store if a product is selling well. If it is, then that would be an argument against it. I want to set myself apart from the crowd, and not smell like everybody else!

Pheromones isn't detectable. However, u do feel lovey-dovey when its influencing you. Pheromones and cologne have seperate effects.

Are you insinuating that women would prefer a man to not wear a scent of some sort? I'm not sure as to where you're from, but around in the USA, they generally like a guy who smells good - if they didn't, then cologne and perfumes wouldn't be a worldwide multi-billion dollar industry...

By the way, I agree - don't spray cologne onto your shirts, as this actually will change the color - much as bleach or cleaning agents will over time - it is meant to be sprayed on either your neck, wrist (right below your palms) or other areas that 'heat up'.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

As I said Bishop, I've never met a woman that said or hinted that she liked cologne on men (or me) ever ! I'm sure I'm clean and smell OK though. I don't think woman (I'm in the Northeast US) are really that keen on men wearing perfumes.

I have this cologne called Cubanos Gold... It resembles the smell of a Cuban cigar, and it comes in a cigar shaped bottle.

The calogne is very nice and masculine, I recommend it.

Another good inexpensive cologne is Stetson Unleashed. I get pretty good results with it. I also have Christian Monet, Hugo and Aqu di Gio but i usually stick to the Jacobs.

NatureGuy, where are you from? I've met plenty of girls who tell me how they love it when a guy smells good. I've known girls to get aroused from the smell of my cologne.

-Drakkar

-Aqua Di Gio

-Coolwater

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Colognes Anchor.

I would recommend 'investing' colognes, not just for women, but for your overall successful well-being.

Why?

Scents are anchors to those who use a scent-based system to create meaning. Some of us visually access, some of us use olfactory senses, while others use auditory scents. Pleasant smells transmit in our brain to corresponding feelings.

Ever smell a cake being baked by your mother during a mild fall afternoon upon entering from school? If that was a happy moment to you and you smell it *again* or something similar, you are MORE likely to be happy and enjoy that moment. So if you met a woman who somehow installed that scent in you through cooking or through a perfume or candle, you'll gravitate toward her because of that pleasant smell.

Likewise...I've met many women who enjoy a certain cologne and it drives them wild like Spanish Fly. Using something like it or that exact cologne will 'anchor' you and provide you with a good kickstart. On the flip side, if you wear a cologne of a guy she hated, you're screwed and should switch it or wear another one. These meanings are entrenched in our brain until we break them (very hard) or create a new one.

Another good idea is to wear a unique, but GOOD cologne so you own that scent. Now when she goes out without you, she will have something to recollect about you. What a wonderful thing! If anybody talks about scents, or men, odds are she will recollect you and the scent and the feelings she experiences with you and thereby INCREASE her feelings for you. It is said we fall in love, or lust, not while we are with that person, but while we're not with them. Give it some thought.

My personal faves as of late are:

Spark by Claiborne

Aqua Di Gio

AngelMen

Curve

I switch 'em up and always get compliments. Any great woman will desire to be closer when she smells you and 'kino' or touching always benefits you more in establishing a romantic relationship vs a friendship.

Northeast US, but maybe I'm more like
Crocodile Dundee. Perfume on guys seems effeminate to me (apart from my just not liking the smell) but if someone can prove to me it has any value, maybe I'll try it as an experiment. But show me how you prove the girl wouldn't have been interested in you without the cologne. I think it's probably a waste of money.

My favorites are:

D&G
Hugo Boss
Joop
Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne XS
Eternity
Lacoste
Gant Indigo
1881
Paul Smith Extreme

D&G gets the most compliments, but Joop gets a lot too.

I actually wear cologne all the time, even if I'm just going to Uni, the pub with some mates or into town to shop. I think it gives you an edge and tells people you're a guy who takes pride in himself.

I've been thinking of getting some Jean Paul Gaultier. Does anyone rate it? A girl I dated one time wore the female version and it was amazing - really got me hot.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

NatureGuy, I never said that cologne is going to pull hos for you. It's just something to put you over the top. Dirtheart already stated that it shows you take pride in yourself and how you smell is a part of that. Girls like guys who put time into their appearance and how they smell.

If you think that's your image, sure. Though by looking at your name, I picture a large Paul Bunyan-type man in a double-breasted plaid shirt, chest hair sticking through the top... :)

I bought some today :) I found some smells that I liked so I picked them up. I picked up a thing of Darkkar Noir (the thing with aftershave, deodorant, and cologne) , Acqua DI Gio, and Polo Blue. I kind of go with what I like, and what a random girl likes ;) .

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
