Having returned to school recently, I came across a great site with a few good articles on college dating. I saw something that I wish came out during my freshman year. I figure it's better to put it here than the high school threads, but feel free to check it out.

What I learned that any D-Juan, regardless of age, can get out of it:

-First Impressions MATTER: this is a universal rule in and out of college. Have your style fit the age group and fit the niche. In this case, it mentioned owning a cardigan or two, and a great pair of jeans. Oh, and grooming, always a must.

-Make many friends ASAP: Whatever niche or enviroment you're in, make friends, and do it fast. Be the first to break the ice and build your status EARLY.

-Try some low pressure dates with you women: concerts, lunch with friends, sometimes even starbucks. Why go excessive? Sometimes the simple does the trick.

I basically cliff-noted the page I saw, but if you want, take a look. It's worth a check out.

The sunny side of the street.
It seems like I unwittingly did all that when I was a freshman in college. But there's really nothing new or ground-breaking mentioned in that article; at least nothing that you wouldn't get from the DJ Bible.

And also, it depends on where you go to college. Colleges have a tendency to be dynamic depending on where in the country/region you go.

As a college sophomore I can tell you... almost everyone in college dresses like sh!t. Dress slightly better in any way (whether its preppy, gangster, hipster or your own style) and you're already much farther ahead of the pack. People see you and automatically gravitate to you, then its your job to keep up the rest of the game.
