When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.
Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.
Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.
The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
Forget the cash, the cars, and the chiseled jawlines. Female desire operates on a completely different frequency. Primal. Subconscious. Triggers that bypass her logic and hit her on a gut level. Most guys are totally blind to them.
I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.
Then I decoded the psychology behind what actually makes women tick. 22 hard rules. Subtle behavioral shifts that rewired my entire reality. The anxiety evaporated. Women started leaning in. Investing. Chasing.
And you're saying that her love and affection was only worth $1000 a year for 17 years. I'm not saying that he should spend more, but you can't help but loose when you have to buy your way out of a bad relationship situation. Another example of this is alimony.Originally posted by So Many Ways
I can't blame the guy for doing what he did, he was married for 17 years. I'd figure you'd have to take that into account, before wondering if some behavior is "AFC" or not.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
I must be a nut or an idiot if I want to go back to being AFC!!!This guy isn't an "AFC", he's just nuts and an idiot to boot.
Dearest WyldfireThis guy isn't an "AFC", he's just nuts and an idiot to boot.
Thanks for injecting some estrogen into the board but your observation is one sided. Did you view this man as romantic and giving because he did what you relate to as an incredible generous act? No. You observed that he must be dark and horrible or committed some kind of despicable atrocity. For someone to spend $17,000 on an ad to try to get his wife to forgive him he had to do something HORRIBLE.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
Just wait until someone comes through that has more means than he does...Originally posted by penguin
If he succeeds, why did he get her back? Because he spent $17k? Does he have to spend money to keep her happy? Buy her a card, write her a letter. I couldn't ever do that. I'de be stuck wondering if it was the money spent on her that brought her back or did she really want to. At least if you do something smaller you know that if she's back, it's because of what you say/do/are, not the $ spent.
Kaine you kiss a$$!!!Dearest Wyldfire
I don't think that's necessarily true. They could've just argued a lot. She could've said "I'm leaving" and went to her parents' house to calm the hell down. The guy could've been calling 15 times a day to try and patch it up, he could've been leaving gifts on the doorstep or coming to the house everyday to try and see her. All of this would naturally just drive a woman further away (I know because I've been there). It doesn't necessarily have to be something major, it could just be a slow accumulation of hatred. For someone to spend $17,000 on an ad to try to get his wife to forgive him he had to do something HORRIBLE.
Des, didn't the CNN article say he was asking for her to forgive him?Originally posted by Desdinova

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
But we don't know why he's asking for forgiveness. Perhaps he wants to be forgiven for calling too many times or showing up unexpectedly at her door. AFCs can apologize for almost anything. "Oh sorry dear, I didn't mean to get a hard on while you're mad."Des, didn't the CNN article say he was asking for her to forgive him?
I think he's got mental problems. That's not saying he's not an effeminate lap dog too...but to spend that much money to put a letter of apology in the newspaper (which will embarass his wife horribly) that is going to be very personal is just plain insane.Originally posted by Desdinova

I agree, desparation can easily reveal a person's weakness. It seems that if they have money to throw away it reveals it even more.Originally posted by MacDiddy
He is not insane!!!!
He is just a very rich man driven to frustration and desperation like all AFCs for wanting something back that he cannot have.
If only he knew the DJ way.
It doesn't say he's rich. He might have spent his whole life's savings on that ad for all we know.Originally posted by MacDiddy
