You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
Exactly where was the science in that post? Don't be so easily fooled. Not saying he's right or wrong.Originally posted by eLMac

Stormbringer that was the best post I've seen in a good while. Thankyou very much.
The problem is taking the info from actionlove.com as "scientific fact." That's not the best thing to do.Originally posted by pimpfromdayone
Who cares?! What do you want a friggin bibliography too?! Haha, the guy made a great post about "the clinical effects" of both masturbation and non-masturbation and you are arguing about its validity for some reason. For those who didn't understand, the whole post is a scientifically backed way of saying: masturbate/have sex in moderation, because it is true that hormone levels are changed by the act, and if you didn't know that for some reason, you have no right to even have an opinion in this. Over-masturbation can exist, but I think you would have to be a chronic masturbator to do it, haha, like multiple times a day every day. I think once a day is a limit everyone should set though, just in case. Over-masturbation has short-term symptoms as well, so it's not like you would be doing it without having some noticable problems. And on the other hand, semen should be released from the prostate gland and other fluids from other auxillary glands on occasion, or that is also unhealthy. MODERATION. The Bad Ass Canadian also makes an excellent point: if you think not masturbating is somehow going to increase your success with women, there is something wrong with your way of thinking.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Like I was saying, if for some reason your mind changes, you were either doing WAY too much and depleting all your hormone levels (any moron can figure out that secretion means depletion if you do it too much, so why the fu-ck do you need science to prove it?!), or you have some pyschological problem associated with masturbation that you shouldn't have. It really is all in your mind, to a point... like I said, if you do it ALL the time, you face the possibility of actually causing some pyschological side-effects due to how you altered your body's chemistry. Too much of ANYTHING is bad for you, so once again I ask you why do you need science to prove it? About the pent up sexual energy, well... I actually have a stronger sex drive a day or two after doing it than I would if I abstained from it completely. The body, as far as I have read from other sources, increases the production of certain hormones when you are sexually active. As to the original poster, well, he clearly already made his mind up and was adamant about not masturbating, so all he wants is for us to tell him reasons NOT to masturbate, which, needless to say, is stupid.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
