"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I dunno, its gonna sound a bit cheesy, but there's a girl in my school that I'm crazy about. She and I have a lot of classes together, and we have a lot of similar interests (she's into the same kind of music as me for one thing, and with the stuff that I listen to, that's REALLY rare). Anyway, I really can't stop thinking about her; but I don't know if she feels the same way. Thing is, every time I get around her, I end up choking, not knowing what to say or do. Anyone here in/has been in a similar situation? If so, what did you do?

Any help would be appreciated.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

this is whats known as one-itis. start chattin up some other random chicks on myspace or school or whatever and dont talk to this girl for about 2-5 days. if she's got any kind of attraction for you she'll start initiating some convos w/ u... all this i kno is way easier said than done... but it'll way pay off in the end. (if she doesnt start talking to you then u kno she doesnt like u and u stop wasting time, if she does talk to you ya might end up gettin some!) lol

it hurts... but oneitis just cripples you (I know from experience). Best way to cure it? Meet other girls and maybe stop talking to her for a bit.

but one thing is to try not to play games. This site will tell you to play a lot of games with girls and stuff to get them to like you, but what you really need to do is be yourself. As you get better and better and more confident, this feeling of oneitis goes away, and you start to view all girls on a level playing field.

edit-
i love porcupine tree... haven't met too many girls that like it tho haha.
