The only reason you've even heard about this story is due to the massive public outcry by all the awesome Canadians who are standing behind the kid. This is Canadian news and old news at that. If the boy was lauded for his heroism this story wouldn't even register on your radar. Unless he pulled out a gun and shot the kid with the knife. Then of course it would be a "Guns save lives" story in the US.

What is missed is that the principal of the school has recently resigned. Probably due to public pressure. So change the title of your post to "Canadian's are awesome!" and pick up a book.

It isn't just because of this incident that Canada is becoming pussified. Every year my kid's school holds a day called "pink shirt day" to bring up awareness of bullying. I sent my boy to school in blue.

There was another event called Best Friends day or some 5hit where all the kids had to wear pink stickers. And it doesn't stop at that. For breast cancer awareness month, they change all the gloves in the hospitals from blue to pink. One of the fire departments here has a pink fire truck. I'm repeatedly seeing men being forced to wear pink here, and it really sickens me. I'm only waiting to see men be forced to wear skirts to raise awareness or rape victims or some 5hit.

Only 15 percent of Swedes believe in feminism, you will find people of all kinds, same as in Canada, Latvia or wherever. To make that kind of generalization says more about the one making it than about the country.

It's true, our education system is whacked.
My son has been hauled down to the principals office and me called more times than I can remember.

Why? Because I as a parent tell him to ignore the non violent code of conduct that the education system demands.

My message to him is he should never take sh1t from anyone and if he has to kick the crap out of a bully to keep his respect, I have his back.

There is little point trying to change the school system as you will likely fail without the support of the majority of parents. There is little point flaming a nation because of some government dynamics.

What is important, is that the parents of these children stick up for them and never let them forget that they are men (or someday will be) and not allow anyone to change the behavior befitting of a man.

One thing I know for certain is the bully should be expelled and placed in juvenile detention. WTF with just a suspension?! Everyone knows bullys at that age are screwed up mentally and have lack of regard for the safety of others. They usually keep acting out until someone punishes them and gets the bully to see the error in their ways.

He pulled a knife out on a kid and they gave him days off from school! The school just gave the bully time to plot revenge and watch cartoons. Plus the kid that stopped him gets in trouble too. The bully is obviously coming back for retaliation on the hero kid.
