Broke up with live in girlfriend. What now?

Broke up with my gf. We share a flat together. She's also on the lease. I don't live in an area that acknowledges common law marriage so from a legal standpoint I'm not exposed to anything. Logistically and emotionally what's the best way to deal with things going forward?

I want to press for her to move out ASAP.

How long have you been living together? Common law marriage is typically only after 10+ years...

You can't force her to move, she is on the lease. If she isn't willing to move and you want to get out, you might have to move.

Your ****ed till the lease is up. Until that lease is up you are responsible for half of that rent.
And if you skip on it and get an eviction on your credit you wont qualify for another apartment, and if you do you will have to pay double security deposit.

Thats 4 months of rent.

Your only option is to stay, tough it out till lease is up or move with a friend or parent who wont charge you rent.
Unless you can afford to pay half the rent there and rent at a new place..

If you decide to get a place with your girl neeever put her name on lease.
