You'd think as a 27 year old virgin, I'd have no standards whatsoever. Interestingly enough the worse I do with girls, the pickier I seem to get.
There's the usual spiel of "There's always someone better out there". I think I literally use that as my coping mechanism if I fail with a girl - to look for someone truly better than her.
I also end up benchmarking future prospects against past (failed) prospects. This in turn leads me to ruling out girls I might otherwise have considered going for.
