Men don't care if the woman is divorced if she is still of the age where she can pregnant easily. Men care if she been pregnant before.

Women on the other hand may care if the man is divorced. But, they don't care too much if the man has a kid, especially if he has money.

Single dads are hot. Single moms are not.

Because when you're in your 50s and 60s, it's pathetic to "open sets" and "trying out a new opener".
The other option is to get comfortable being solo and non-reliant on a romantic partner for happiness. You live life on your terms without chaos, conflict, constant challenges, and romantic hassles. 90% of all married men dream of this life.

“The 22 Rules That Turned Me From Invisible to Irresistible With Women… Starting Tonight”

You can skip the expensive cars, the fancy clothes, and the endless gym selfies. Completely unnecessary.

If you're 35+ and divorced. That's reasonable. 36+ and never married: Weird.
According to who? And who gives a flying f*ck what people think. That's an old social norm. I'm surprised people still cave in to that...live their life based on what other people, whom they may not even know, think. THAT'S sad.

It's always feel pathetic if you fail/get rejected no matter what age you are.
I disagree. It's glorious to fail at an approach when you're young. Other guys will respect you and you'll respect yourself.

But it's sad as F if an old guy does it.

Bottom line is, there's a time when guys need to grow up. What's acceptable at age 24 might not be acceptable at age 55.

Why are you so concerned about other men then if you are comfortable being solo and non reliant on women?

This is a quote from the article:
"For Bancroft, owning her divorce has been a way to find healing and empowerment following the trauma of the relationship."

I don't know the details of her story, but it's interesting that she chooses to describe the relationship as the trauma. Too often women will take this stance just to justify their decision. She didn't have a husband, she had a source of trauma.

In a social climate where speaking one's true thoughts("My SO is gone, and even though things weren't going well, I'm experiencing emotional hurt")can get you labelled "A handmaiden of The Patriarchy" or "A proponent of Gynocentricism", everyone walks around concealing things constantly

@quodlibet "Because when you're in your 50s and 60s, it's pathetic to "open sets" and "trying out a new opener"

If a fella thinks of things in such terms, sure

Peer pressure is definitely a factor for women when it comes to divorce. Might even be the cause in some cases.

Instead of opening sets and trying out openers, you could always just talk to people. That's not quite so pathetic.

I can't help but suspect that "Divorce is hot" = the female equivalent to a man who's immersed himself in organized crime asserting: "I ain't 'fraida nooohbody!!!" A gal admitting outright

"I cry every night(and sometimes first thing in the morning) whenever my eyes roam over the empty half of the bed once occupied by my now ex-husband, and I imagine him in the arms of his new squeeze... I've spent my entire life hearing the virtues of being a strong independent woman, but dammit, being alone when he's found a replacement hurts!!!"

Is, in the eyes of many, less enticing than a mafiosi who's honest to admit out loud

"My existence is one of perpetual terror... Not a moment goes by where I don't imagine a rival blasting my skull open with a 12 gauge"

Yo do not need to be opening sets and trying openers. You can live a perfectly single life, having a good social circle and a great life. Provided you didn't live in your parent's basement in the meantime. In fact, you can have excellent hobbies that keep providing you with opportunities to meet women within your circle.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
