You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Hey, Mr. Me, try something like this:Hey, I'll have salami once in a blue moon, a little is okay, but not a steady diet of it. But you can go ahead and eat all the saturated fats you want and take the risk that the conventional wisdom is wrong.
You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.
She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.
Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.
Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
Have you actually READ the Atkins book? This sounds like someone described the Atkins diet 4th hand to you (eat a lot of beef, hurhurhur) and you are judging THAT diet. Atkins promotes lots of low carb vegetables with proteins and fats, not gorging on bacon.Quiksilver said:By sensible I do not mean the approach atkins took, eating burgers, bacon and other processed meats all day, which are loaded with hydrogenated oils and potentially transfats.
I've been through this with the anabolic diet (similar as the first 2 weeks you eat less then 20g carbs/day). I felt like ****.. no energy for the gym or anything really.. much less sex. It took a bit longer for me but around the 3rd week or so in my body switched and my energy levels evened out again.StevenR said:Going into week 2 of an extremely low carb diet, and am having second thoughts about it. There are days when I feel lethargic and not doing much. The other strange thing that has happened is that I have almost completely lost my sex drive. I no longer care about women that much, and half the reason I am doing this is to be able to attract hotter women. Anyone else who has tried a low carb diet, fewer than 20g carbs, and lost their sex drive?
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
