"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

We all have our bad moments. Most of us can blame ignorance, but in this case, everyone told you to do the exact opposite of what you ended up doing. Kinda retarded, gj nuking your chances.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Yea, follow your heart, no one on this site posts advice knowing every factor in the situiation. I'm shocked, however if this works or dosen't is fine with me. OMG I can't believe it im shocked.

Dare to disagree with me but what i'm personally starting to notice a few times now is text as in an instant message or text message will trigger much more emotion or just as much as talking to a girl in person or by phone. This is true because with text, its always there, it can be read again and intrepted any way. From the few times that ive noticed, your gonna get much more of a reaction if you make a quick compliment to a girl by texting them compared to saying it to them personally. Shure the second way is better but the texting im'ing whatever is going to trigger much more emotion because she will interpert it much more deeply.

No. A text/IM means next to nothing, because it's not a person saying it. It's letters. Pixels. It's not personal, it's not real, it carries no emotion (typying "LOL" doesn't count as an emotion) it's not memorable. Maybe they could go back and read it over and over and over to interpret it more deeply. But you're kidding yourself if you think that actually will read it more than once.

What do you think, they're going to save it to a txt file, print it out and ponder it in their bubble bath?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I see your point and im not against what your saying but its just that text has more meaning than you precieve it to have. And hs girls are fvcking nuts, obsessed with texting and saving aim conversations, it has more meaning to it than you think. An aim conversation is precieved as a real face to face conversation in real lif and so is texting. A myspace comment means s#it. Thats the way I see how it works, take it as you want.

The way that I see this working is that you're more comfortable AIMing or texting, and you're searching for validations that make your preference more acceptable to you. The reason that I think this is because despite that fact that everybody who initailly responded to this post told you not to ask her out via these methods, you did it anyway.

I'm telling you man, unless you write like Herman Melville, you're not going to elicit any lasting emotions with written communication, at least not in the attraction stage. Sure, maybe once you've been dating a while, then you can actually make them feel something. But during the preliminary stages, when you're just getting to know them, non-personal contact is detached from your actual self. Like I said before, it's not you talking to her, it's just words. One of the keys that the really successful employ is not just what they say, or even how they say it, but that those things are bonded to them. When a girl thinks about what you said, she's also thinking about what you looked like, what you smelled like, your posture, your air of control, all of the litle things that are involved while you were saying something. When she's reading something you wrote, obviously, you're not there. She doesn't bond the words she's reading with you, at least not nearly as much as when she is in your presence. Even over the phone, you are controlling your tone and tempo enough that what you say is ingrained in her mind with you. You simply cannot do that with writing. If you could, you'd be writing NYTimes best-sellers, not hanging out on a forum. :D

You can pique her interest, but you are not going to forge any emotional connection, and that is the idea.
