Are you a Mormon by chance? I am and feel I am walking a thin line sometimes between being a DJ and waiting until marriage for sex, etc.

Yeah, I know how that goes. I am 18 and mission bound (hopefully). I just came across this site looking for ways to meet more girls and have some fun before my mission. Not too much fun though, if you know what I mean.

Mormon missionaries hit on me all the time. You guys know what I mean. There are some countries on this planet where you hang around parks, bus stops, and at the top of metro (subway) stairs. The sunny all-American smile usually gives you away. The name tag doesn't hurt either. After a while you head back to safety with other missionaries. I would think hitting on girls would be simple for you.

Yeah, theoretically going on a mission is supposed to be a coming-of-age sort of thing for young Mormon men. They get a taste of life away from home and interacting with other people. After 2 years we are supposed to return home and get married.

Young Mormon women are encouraged to date a RM (returned missionary) thus feeding the myth that you have to serve a mission. Unfortunately, it seems that while men on missions are encouraged to interact and persuade others to "convert" and be baptized, they are not allowed to be alone with women, nor think about sex, no hugs, etc. almost to the point of shame if you do!

I'm not slamming my religion as a whole or the doctrine I believe, only in some of the culture over the last generation that has warped some of our minds into thinking sexual thoughts are evil, therefore many of us become AFC and are afraid to touch women.:nono:

It has taken me years to lose my fear of touch and therefore I no longer fear women and like them more. :)

Didn't mean to go offtopic. So, other Utahns in this forum?
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
