for me, I tend to lay most of the focus at looking at one person. I might "look over" the crowd from time to time, but I don't really "look"... then shift to look at another person...

My Dad used to teach that we should never think others as superior or inferior to us. That helped me ... I can speak to anyone / crowds without getting butterflies in my tummies ... by the way I have the habit of looking into the eyes of others while talking (one on one basis ofcourse)
