Any of you gone through serious health issues before? (Diseases or Cancer)

My health insurance kicks in next month and I will be seeing a doctor but man, this flu season has been nasty to me. I am 30 but starting to fear that I might have something serious which includes cancer or a brain tumor that is malignant.

Just wanted to know if anyone has gone through a serious health issue before and how you got through it. I cannot wait to get the diagnosis but I know whatever I hear, it is going to likely not be too great.

Yeah everyone gets worried about this thing. Its like anything could potentially be an early warning symptom where if you nip it in the bud soon enough then you should be fine. Most normal symtoms of xyz could have a potential cancer on something if you google search it. When was the first time you had symptoms? What type of symptoms do you have that would lead you to think you have that? Perhaps it may not be that bad. Because of good treatment and medical advancement most cancers are treatable if catched on time and leading to either longer lifespan than what was available decades ago or even better. If its something benign or has not spread and is caught early enough then it would be good for you if its discovered on time.

I had back problems in my early 20s. I was in constant pain, couldnt sit and couldnt walk. Ended up getting surgery.

Legit everything has gone haywire for me since November. Seeing a doctor in January and am afraid I might get diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I hope I am wrong but they will likely find a tumor or few in my body. In the US and health insurance here is only available if you are employed hence why I have had to wait a bit to get it and see a doctor.

What has appalled me more than anything is how crappy the doctors in general are. It is the usual blood test which doesn't even show things like your thyroid and liver enzymes. After that, okay good to go. So much crap must have been missed.

I have felt a bit more tired than usual for about 5 years now but nothing debilitating. That is why fatigue is such a vague symptom.

Yes, I've had cancer (testicular) many years ago, with just the orchiectomy for treatment, followed by many years of checkups, blood tests, X-rays & CT scans.

If you are suspecting a brain tumor because of an acute headache & brain fog, it is probably due to long COVID, as these are some of the weird symptoms it can cause, especially the current variant making the rounds. I've been having strange symptoms like this (especially a stuffed up nose and acute headaches) for most of all of 2022 (I came down, at least I believe, with COVID in May 2020, and then got 3 inoculations since then).

If you have a fam history of high blood pressure and are vaxxed, you should start drinking some pine needle tea to get rid of the spike proteins that are causing micro-clots in many people. Suramin is the key ingredient in the tea.

Just fyi, once you get a cancer diagnosis, you will never be able to buy life insurance again. But if you got the insurance before the diagnosis, they can't take away the policy. Term life insurance is very cheap, especially for young people.

This was bladder, so the symptom was frequent urination and I noticed a blood in my urine a few times.
I was like 28. I was the youngest person in the hospital ward by about 3 decades lol. I don't even smoke. Just bad luck.

I haven't really read your other thread so don't know what your symptoms are, but don't worry yourself. Everyone diagnoses themselves with cancer or something when they start googling sh1t!

Yeah well, apparently cancer is becoming more common for younger people. I am glad you survived and are better off. I cannot wait to see a doctor and get to the bottom of things.

I'm an insurance agent and I can say that is 100% not true (I'm practising out of Ontario, Canada). I'm not sure how the rules are in America, but my impression is there are certain standards across the board. This includes a 2 year contestibility period where the insurance can comb through the application and deny the claim if someone made an honest mistake and the suicide clause, where any suicide in the first 2 years of a policy will result in a denied claim. There is no statute of limitation for fraud.

If he applies for insurance, he has to disclose that he's planning to see his doctor for some test when it comes to health questions. As he's seeing a doctor very soon, the underwriting department will be all over whatever the findings are from that doctor, and even if he cancels the appointment, if the underwriting department could still order testing from their own team of specialists to collect his vitals, blood and urine.
Based on what he's describing, its not a good time for him to think about life insurance unless he gets a clean bill of health from that doctor, and certainly not that specific diagnosis.

That being said, if its a benign cancer, or if he's able to get it under control, then some insurance companies, which specialize on these types of health-issues by by-passing traditional underwriting, would still insure the OP. However, the premiums of those companies tend to be higher than the A-list insurance companies, even when they are rated policies, from my experience.

Most health questions ask if is planning to see a doctor and if he suspects something. It can still be grounds for cancelling the policy in the first 2 years. For that 2 year period, even an honest mistake is enough for the insurance to cancel.
