"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Well I am in a very awkward situation right now. There was a 14 y/o girl that had a crush on me, I wasnt really that into her, but I considered dating her, mainly because she is almost four years younger than me, and also because my best friend was strongly persuading me not to. Well my best friend at the time was in a relationship of two years. Just recently they broke up, and strangely enough it is because my friend, who happens to be 18, had the hots for the girl who used like me. I was a little pissed obviously, seeing as how my friend was a complete hypocrite. Im over that now, because I realized that i didnt really like the girl much anyways.

Now my problem is that I really like my friends ex. Im a little unsure of how to go about this, seeing as how they dated for 2yrs and i dont know what the waiting period typically is. Know I konw its never a good idea to go after a girl like this, who just got dumped, but I really like her, and more than just a crush. Ive been talking to her alot lately, and since they broke up, I have told her how I felt about her. Apperantly she likes me too, buttt she is really not in a good mental state right now.. so im really not sure what to do at this point, if she wasnt that important to me then I would move on. but i really think there is more to it.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Move on. If this girl gets more involved in your life, it will only lead to bad things. Your friend probably broke up with her for a reason. Plus, she's goddamn 14 years old. Find somebody your own age.
