"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Well... me and this girl have been dating for four months now, and we're freshman in college and school just ended for us last week. We live about half an hour away from eachother. Well tonight she's going to this party with two of her best friends, and I'm just worried that some guy will hit on her, maybe she'll get drunk and do stuff, who knows. Any advice for this kind of thing? I doubt she'd do anything, but there's always a chance.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Well, what can you do. One thing for sure is not to become a jealous AFC and start handcuffing her.

Best advice, from a AFC's perspective... (still in transition phase) is to be active yourself and maybe even let her know you're going to do something tonight as well.

Yeah, just don't make a big deal out of it.
My girl sometimes (maybe once a month) goes to club with some of her girlfriends without me. I'm very cool about it, because I also go out without her.
But if you call her the next day, just don't act mad or insecure because she "could" have done something, just ask her how it's been and if she had fun.
The thing is, if you actually start to act all jealous and stuff, she will lose respect for you, and if that happens, she just can't love you anymore.
So... just play it cool. Go to Articles on the Sosuave homepage and read the article Are you the jealous type? by Allen Thompson. Trough that article I came on sosuave in 2000 (My girlfriend at the time dumped me, and I was searching on the net why people are jealous, and that's how I found Allen's article). And guess what, after 2000, I've never been dumped again, since then I've been always in control and I am the one now ending relationships (only if it's necessary ofcourse ;)).
