Do you define average as mean or median? Most frequently occuring in the wild, or halfway between best and worst?

I can't see any reason to think the mean and median wouldn't yield the same result here. We arbitrarily set the scale from 0 to 10, so if beauty is normally distributed, we'll find the mean and median will be the same. (In fact, so will the mode.)

The majority of chicks would fall between 4 and 6, and a greater majority, probably like 85%, from 3 to 7. Seriously ugly and seriously good lookng are both rare encounters.

This is taking into account both face and body. However, real results will be slighly skewed from the above because to truly rate a 10 she needs a certain level of height, too. Also, obesity is a big problem in western countries -- among both the beautiful and the ugly -- so many facial 8s find themselves demoted to something like 3s because of their bodies. (Yes, young girls are aware that fat isn't attractive, but results show that they aren't having that much success avoiding stacking it on.)

And yes, I'd go for one of these down-to-earth average girls over an HB10 b1tch any day. The HB10s aren't all b1tchy, but they're usually not particularly interesting either. A lot of above-average-looking girls take advantage of their beauty and just maintain BORING personalities.

Uh, yeah, okay buddy. Just how many 10s have you actually MET? (Not just seen, actually spoken to -- for long enough to be able to guage their personalities?)

Personally, I won't compromise on looks. I don't need a 10 (thank God!), but I've got to find her "hot". Personalities, in my experience, don't really vary all that much. If you're an "in control" kinda guy, YOUR personality should color the relationship a lot more than hers, anyway. So, as long as she isn't unbearable, personality doesn't factor into it that much for me. (Of course, you do get the occasional standout personalities, but they are pretty rare -- 5-10% of the time, maybe, and probably the lower end of that.)

The rating scale is crap...its just an excuse for guys not to approach, or to gloat when they lay one they consider high on the scale.

I propose a binary code sort of system. 0 for undoable, 1 for doable...and thats it. After all, when you 'bust your nut', it feels the frickin same anyway, lol.

Well, I'm saying that you can make five the mean scale if you want. But in my experience, the average girl is actually pretty hot. But we never refer to "HB5s" so making 5 the mean score doesn't make much sense.


hotornot.com does it like you do. If you get a 5, then you're hotter than 50% of the people. But I don't entirely agree with that.

i'm with you..but if you are going to use scales, you can't just have 2... because just becuase I would DO you, doesn't mean I want other people to know I did you.. you know the girl who isn't necessary a sack of bags, but you aren't going to go out bragging that you did it with her.

i'm not one for scales anymore. it's silly and childish. rating someone on something they have absolutly (well, very little) control over (looks)

Well you can do whatever you want. I'm simply trying to describe reality. Whether we call the true average woman a 5 or a 3 or a ZZHEL998 doesn't really matter. The objective fact is that such women exist, and most women are not too far away from this average, either above it or below it. That is why breathtakingly beatitful and devastatingly ugly are rare finds.

Does any of this help in picking up? Not really. But so what?
