So I weigh around 190 lbs. Working on losing some fat so I can see my abs before I start clean bulking again. Looking at my diet, I’m getting around 140-150 g of protein a day. Is this a problem, is it absolutely critical that I get 1 g of protein per pound of body weight?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I don't think it is, but you would probably have an easier time shedding fat. Meeting your caloric goal with a higher protein diet will become much more of a chore, rather than fats or carbs and keep you feeling satiated longer as well, considering you're protein sources come from actual food and not powders.
