I have such a visceral reaction when it comes to our generation - the millennials. On one hand, we bear the brunt of the facts you stated, and it's not our fault we're playing a rigged game. I got "got" by the educational scam by racking up 29k in debt for a garbage liberal arts degree. Oh sure, I was 18 when I signed the papers. But wouldn't it have been nice if a 40 year old role model said think about what you're signing..

Meanwhile, get a Baby Boomer talking and they'll ramble incoherently about "laziness". Ever notice how all of them have the same tales about working 60 hours, in freezing conditions, with no shoes, and they were just "grateful to have a job." In other words, largely exaggerated war stories but because everyone wants to believe they worked hard and most importantly that it wasn't done in vain, they'll brag about how hard it was. They'll throw stones from their glass house at the millennials who are now playing a rigged game. In 1970, pensions existed. In 1970, there wasn't a student loan crisis. In 1970, you could get 4.5% interest on a savings account. In 1970, there's wasn't such an issue with outsourcing and machines. Wages have stagnated. We are not playing by the same set of rules here. Compared to us now, the Baby Boomers were born on 2nd base and thought they hit a double.

At the same time, millennials lose me when our response to this is a clusterfvck of unproductive white noise we fill our lives with. This explains the explosion of yoga in the last decade. He recently told me he had a conversation with the spirits and they spoke back to him, and that he "sw himself in a past life." But don't you agree that not only have we not handled it well, but have handled it in the worst way possible? My friend was smart enough to know the 9-5 is rigged - that the people who lectured us for two decades keep changing the goal posts, that asking us to kick from 65 yards out when you kicked from the 25 is not kosher, etc. But his answer is endless complaining all the while talking endlessly about becoming a billionaire with some spiritual jargon sprinkled in. Sure, take a walk down Hollywood Blvd and meet the 30 million other young guys who are also going to be the greatest rapper of all time. The United States spends about 20x the runner-up country in military spending while people are starving in the streets. When the terrorists threatened our government with the death of our citizens, our leader did nothing and instead allowed its citizens to have their heads separated from their bodies at the hands of terrorists. Those men completely forgotten, the most pressing matter taking precedence in our country is where a queer dressed as a woman will take a dump. We need a leader aware of the human condition, global cultures and capable of threatening war. Only then will we have a country united and a people ready to march at the drop of his hat.

My wife is also an ex-soldier and served during an ROTC program at her public university where it was mandatory for all students to learn the ins and outs of fighting a war. I am against allowing in Syrian regufees, I think Islam is a disgusting religion and, as an atheist, by far the worst. I don't respect its adherents beliefs. I am voting for Trump. Hillary and Obama are disgraceful Muslim apologists.

However, that is not an argument for the draft or for a war in Iraq- a country that never attacked us. ISIS as a "state" is not coming here. It may be able to inspire lone-wolf attacks in our land like the one you mentioned, but that's not an argument for imperialism. It's an argument for profiling Muslims - yes, everyone read that right. Until Islam fixes itself, go into their mosques, profile them at airports, ban the full-body Hijab in public. Those sorts of things will protect our citizens at home.

My grandfather served in Korea, and good for him. But he was not defending the safety and security of the United States in that war. We weren't under an imminent threat from a jumbled state 12,000 miles away focused on infighting within itself.

But the rewards are there, Korean women L O V E American men. Now the problem starts when you start to take your tax farm for granted. You and I are only allowed to exist for as long as we continue to turn the farm a profit. We are only allowed to have children so long as our owners are happy with our productivity. The democratic system is no longer securing pure milk for the farmer and it will be coming to an end shortly.
