The fallacy in thinking "women have advantage in modern dating" is, it forgets the world has a 1-to-1 gender balance. Neither side has an advantage.

I'd say women have the advantage for two reasons:
1) A greater percentage of women are considered attractive than men.

The average age of women in the usa is 40. Most 40 year old women are not any more attractive than the average 40 year old man (approx the same age). To be honest, I would think the average 40 year old man is more attractive...

2) Women have better support systems if things go wrong.

the same support system that tells them to "you go gurl!!!'... the support system sucks and gives them bad advice.. the average woman is not a unique snow flake..

I will say with 1/3 men not working and another 1/3 living at home the quality of men can be lacking however, the ratio still favors women by far. Women are just terrible at picking men.

I remember one girl who just gotdivorced, cute 40-year-old; this was back in 2023. Had an extra ticket to a Katt Williams standup show. I was like "Hell yeah" Only thing I had to pay for was some beer. Later after the show, she confessed she Was dating a bum who was cheating on her, she would let him drive to work and she would give him her car, thinking he was looking for jobs. He was driving all over town, banging random women had like 6-8 of them. Meanwhile, the next guy..me? had to prove myself, got a good job, my own place etc. I politely declined

Well, actually this is how women behave

a just got divorced women at 40, had no idea how things changed and just assumed that men are like her ex husband ( whom most likely was a good guy ) so when she met the bum guy she had no idea that a guy would act like that or just thought she is smarter and it could not happen to her

gets burned and then becomes hyper - vigilant

it takes 1 maximum 2 times for a woman to get burned and then become hyper vigilant / become avoidant

has nothing to do with you, has to do with her as she will act more or less the same with everyone post burn

the more a woman got burned in the past, the more defensive systems she will have in place, and ironically the guys who are toxic are actually the guys whom can brake through them mainly because they do not trigger the defensive systems. If a woman knows that only sex is on the table she will take it if she is attracted enough physically, but it will be just sex and in the moment she thinks she gets attached she will call it off

the majority of women in the usa is 40 years old.. and are single iirc. but yet u consider women as a whole to have the advantage in dating because when they were younger ("dating age") they had so much power so many prospects, etc.... I guess that is fine. But I doubt the average woman in the usa would feel so advantageous.... that sadly is the reality

Women have ways to make themselves more attractive in ways men do not(or, makeup, nails, hair, etc...).

Men have to rely on going to the gym and being in good shape for the same sort of "looks better" results.

Most 40 year old men are fat and out of shape. Therefore this doesn't really hold true.

if women. have so many advantages, why do they complain so much about not being able to find anyone.. esp the vast majority or women who are 40?

perhaps women are too picky? if so whats the point to having all of those "advantages"? Are they even advantages if these "advantages" can't help them reach their goals - finding a committed relationships? doesn't sound like advantages to me. More like disadvantages. (paradox of choice).

Well, we're talking about dating, so I'm talking about dating aged girls. They have the advantage - if they decide to use those years to ho it up and squander their advantage, that's their problem.

That dynamic alone means that women can to some extent sit back and let the game unfold a bit before making a decision on that male

Go to any nightclub on a Saturday night the vast majority of women in there couldn't care less if they get laid , yea some may be ovulating and will be down for some D but they ain't usually chasing it

The men on the other hand are usually lurking in corners creeping or running around like headless chickens trying to get laid

now as for how this translates into the dating market - in any form of negotiation the party who wants less than the other is in the seat of power

Women can afford to be fussier than men because they know most men want what's between their legs more than she wants commitment

AND since the government will take the role of Protector and Provider, AND because she now has more opportunity than ever before to Provide for herself, she needs the commitment even less. At times in the past, her very survival depended on that commitment.

because I doubt guys in most cases would actually like to date a 30+ woman ( no matter their age )

unless there is a very big age gap, like 15-20 years at least

or unless they prioritize companionship, but that again would disqualify a very high proportion of 30+ women
