I think I differentiate travel into two categories...
1. Travel because why not. View it as a break, downtime. See things new, but it isn't an identity. Don't obsess over it. It's no big deal. Can take it or leave it.
2. Travel because not feeling settled or fulfilled in the everyday life the person has built. So travel is a little hit in an attempt to bring meaning to a life without purpose. It's almost used as an "escape" , avoiding responsibility, making it an identity to cling on too because real life isn't fulfilling for them.
Labelling travel as person growth or finding yourselves , indicates to me these individuals are lost.
Number 2. Gives me the "ick" in women. I just think to myself , she's probably miserable on the inside, not content in life and will always be searching for the next dopamine hit so she feels her life has meaning.
Just my own personal view on it
