@BPH How much serious thought have you given to relocating to a different city/region/state to game in? What would the realistic timeframe and logistical circumstances look like?

It seems like a lot of dudes telling you to move out are kinda missing the point that you're still in Northern Delaware.

I make $1,759 working 40 hours per week at my day job, paid out biweekly after taxes. Meaning I make $3,518/mo and $42,216 per year, so not a whole lot.

My parents are taking some money out of their savings to distribute to my siblings and I (they reason that they want us to be able to enjoy some of their money while they're still around, since they're less mobile and can't make as much use of it - I disagree with this, but they're doing it anyway). With that money, the first thing I would do is fully pay off my student loan so I'd have zero debts.

Once I sell my truck, I'll probably have somewhere around $10,000 saved up between that and the other lawn care equipment I recently sold.

Next, I would either take ownership of one of the family cars - likely the Prius, but it has 192k miles on it, so it doesn't have a ton of life left in it - or buy one.

THEN I can see how much money I'm working with and what I can afford...I spent time looking at Apartments.com in some of the areas that I'm considering: Newark (near the college bars), Trolley (I don't like it, but at least it would be close to somewhere fun-ish), Philadelphia (fun, but also very congested and crime-ridden), Brickell & South Beach in Miami (very expensive, even for a piece of sh**, can't afford), and Phoenix (surprisingly affordable, but also halfway across the country).

Surprisingly, Newark and Trolley are more expensive than Philly, but also significantly crappier and more run-down. Most of those spots are $1,500ish/mo. The ones in Philly are about $1,100 - $1,300, which would be much more reasonable, but moving that far away, or further (FL or AZ) means I'd also be losing my job, since my employer wants me to be in the office, even if I can do my job remotely.

So the issue at hand is that I'd be pissing away 1/3 - 1/2 of my income to just not be living at home, or move further away to somewhere more affordable, where it'd cost me my job. Plus, the job market is sh**, which I witnessed by how long it took my brother to find a job after losing his last year, so replacing my income if I were to leave my job would probably be difficult.

What concerns me is moving out, not being able to afford to stay out, and ending up right back where I am now. The goal is to move out and stay out this time.

As far as the timeframe, I assume I'll be able to sell my truck within the month. My parents are distributing their money, child by child, and when both those things happen and I know how much money I'm really working with, that'll give me a better perspective on what I can afford.

That's why it'd be great if I got these guys amazing results with the dating coaching so that it can become a full-fledged business. I'd be my own boss and could do my job from anywhere in the world so long as I had an internet connection.

You do have a unique perspective of hooking up outside of the house. With everything so chaotic these days, the job market might actually improve given enough deportation and re-industrialization, but the AI specter looms. Is your field that your day job is in something you can easily do online (either as a freelancer or with another employer) before the coaching takes off?

I'd also take stock of what kind of girls you are into the most/what kind of girls are most into you and consider those particular demographics when moving out.

Those rent prices you mentioned in Philly are easily obtainable in AZ (rent prices have gone down here and are continuing to do so) and the girls presumably both hotter and easier. A studio or 1 bedroom in or around Old Town Scottsdale or Tempe/ASU would probably be less than Philly and lots of easy access to babes in both areas (and they are about 5 miles apart from each other)

Not really, no. It deals with medical marijuana, which has steadily become more legalized as time has gone on. We service 2 states, and the prices we're charging have been on a downtrend since other places are beginning to replicate our service for cheaper. I took it upon myself to see how many patients we've seen this year as opposed to the same time last year, and it was down something like 30%.

I believe the only reason this business remains afloat is because it makes my boss SOME income, while he's diversified into medical sales in other adjacent ventures (something he's added to my list of responsibilities, but on a more managerial rather than sales/commission basis).

There are some other large brands doing what we do. I haven't looked into whether they're hiring, nor whether they would allow me to work remotely. I fell into this job while I was working at a local gym part-time, while trying to make things happen with modeling/acting. My mom was a nurse for my boss in one of his adjacent ventures, and introduced me. I'm good at what I do, it's easy work, I have zero supervision (which is what allows me flexibility to post on this forum and offer advice for men in other spaces like Quora and Reddit), and I can do my job remotely, such as when I'm on vacation or sick, even though my boss dislikes it.

Phoenix (surprisingly affordable, but also halfway across the country).

One of the primary reasons of recent decades to move to Phoenix no longer applies. From the mid-1990s to mid to late 2010s, the area was flooded by West Coasters (primarily Californians) and Chicagoans looking to escape higher cost areas. Rents and home prices in Metro Phoenix were affordable. Phoenix is no longer as affordable on housing costs and overall costs of living as it was 15-20 years ago.

I can see why someone today from Metro New York City, Philadelphia, or Washington DC would consider it affordable but it's far less of a bargain than it once was.

It takes a lot of money to relocate from Wilmington, DE to Phoenix, AZ.

Phoenix summers have always been unpleasant but some of the hottest summers in history have occurred in the last 15 years.

From roughly April 15 to October 15, the heat in Phoenix is essentially intolerable and will force you to adjust your routines. Most every day during this period will have a high temperature 90 degrees + during this time. 100 degree + high temperatures start consistently around mid-May, ending in mid to late September.

If the entirety of your family is on the East Coast and you're in Phoenix, it will be difficult to see family on any regular basis. They can't help you in emergencies and you can't help them either.
