"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

While I'm sure most of us agree that there are a few specific policy reforms which stand to disproportionately benefit men who are on the lower rungs of the socioecomic ladder (Ending The Drug War, Abolishing most forms of state aid in favor of steering folks into jobs, increasing access to vocational training), it's increasingly to tough to also not think: Someone needs to write an article along these lines https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a162/esq1206blackessay-108/ , denouncing that portion of the male population recently discussed in a separate thread https://www.sosuave.net/forum/threa...r-life-who-are-strangers.282411/#post-3122787

Whatever problems exist within The System, what REALLY retards men in '24 is the worst of "us"... Specifically the Carl Benjamins, the Young Thugs, and their legions of imitators, who disdain things like upward mobility via intellectual expansion and physical toil as "Normie Stuff" or "Acting White", and who instead valorize the thug existence or being real-life equivalents to protagonists in a Judd Apatow movie

A proposal that's likely to be inflammatory: It's time for "ascended men" to wish congenital schlubs like these well, then forget that such fella ever existed. Just as women may be concerned with the state of the planet overall, but spend no more than a few seconds each year sweating the fates of cat ladies and dive bar strumpets, we need to send the schlubs on their way. Let's instead start extolling the most virtuous of ourselves. Talking here men like

The list could go on

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

And on a similar note https://www.sosuave.net/forum/threa...r-life-who-are-strangers.282411/#post-3123146 , let's also start openly and vociferously denouncing male Feminists who take roles such as these https://www.sosuave.net/forum/threads/my-movie-review-blue-valentine.270230/ rather than recoiling in disgust upon reading the script, for they also represent what's most REPUGNANT in modern men

If we're serious about helping men who aren't doing well, let's start putting out PSAs encouraging guys to help themselves, by NOT being an unmotivated schlub with zero ambitions, who settles for a broad who's pregnant with another man's child

Ya never know... Society just might start showing us a bit more respect, if we start respecting ourselves a trifle more than most men today do
