"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm gonna be brutally honest here. I am (or I think I am) addicted to jerking off.

I have Instagram, and besides having it just for receiving the stuff my girlfriend and friends send me (usually memes) I catch myself surving looking to fit women pictures in there. That's the soft part of it. I usually catch myself watching porn sometimes too, for jerking off and nothing else (I heard that there are people who just watch it because they like, it's not my thing).

I once tried NOFAP and I barely lasted 2 months. I workout and my libido is extremely high, I have sex regularly with my girlfriend (some weeks it's everyday, but it's mostly 4/6 times a week) but for some reason my brain wants more. It's like a escape horniness. I see myself stressed, I jerk off. I had a difficult day, I jerk off. Right before sleeping, "to relax", I jerk off too. Yes, all these times jerking off and still having sex with my girl. It didn't get to the point where I would rather do it than have sex with her (but I'm afraid that in some years, if I keep on like that, I can become one of these people).

I'm opening my heart here because the past few weeks I have found myself literally wanting to **** every woman around me. I am someone with strong principles, I would never cheat on my girlfriend, but these past weeks it feels like I'm fighting against myself, something that never happened before. I'm feeling dirty and sick of it.

I truly want to get rid of it, but I honestly feel like a crackhead in a crack pool. It's ****ing hard.

I would also like to leave the forum open for any of you gentlemen who would also like to open your hearts about your addictions to give and receive tips of how to fight against it. Every tip, question and suggestion is very appreciated.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

you need a full 120 day dopamine reset, however dont look at this way, as you will thirst for the 120th day as a Treat, to start again.

you then must do some kind of 12 step work, for alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, and masturbating. endulging in one of these will send a motion of returning to the other 3

What were looking to do is get you "disgusted" with your behaviour by writing it down in the step work, you then SURRENDER to it, as you keep entering a rigged game.

you must come up with new diversion techniques, and apply CBT for the day,

last but not least you apply the narcotics anoynomous "JUST FOR TODAY" if you cant do today, you do "JUST FOR 5 MINUTES"...you basically ride out any urges and do not plot the future

What works for me when trying to kick a habit, is that I keep myself so busy that I don't give myself time to indulge in whatever habit I'm trying to kick.

Maybe this is not the best advice, but at least this could work in conjunction of someone else's input.

I quit cigarettes after some 25+ years of smoking using nothing but simple body weight exercise.
Every time I got a nicotine craving I'd drop and do a set of rapid fire press ups until I was out of breath
a little. - Craving defeated. I'm now just past 8 years off of the tobacco. In my past I have managed to quit
other even more harmful addictions. I'm very good at religiously following one of my own rules made for
myself. It's an Aspi/black and white thinking thing.

Thats you applying CBT/diversion without realising

for instance mine is if I do an hour of cardio I know for sure no junk food will enter my mouth that night, or I ridicule myself how stupid I was doing an hour of cardio

Like Derby, I’m in 12 step recovery from drugs and alcohol. I can definitely relate to your experience. There was a period in my 30s where I was getting laid regularly and fapped to porn daily.

Some folks can moderate their addictions, others need to abstain entirely. Once I began to get my head straight in recovery from alcoholism, all the other parts of my life began to improve. I’m currently no fap no porn but my T levels are a hell of a lot lower than they were 20 years ago and I am getting laid.

I read Robert Glovers books recently and I liked his suggestions. He said cut out the porn but fap if you want to. He suggested making an event out of fapping where you take time to get to know your own body, rather than just pull one off to try and escape some feeling you’re having.

It takes courage to openly ask for help like you have done here. I don’t know what your solution will be but you’ve certainly taken the first step.
