This goes a bit further than just censorship. The leftist zeitgesit allows no discussion, because in the end they aren't able to defend their ideas by using words. They just create some fake outrage and point at it and screech like good little robots, and shut down the comments section.

Thus you see ghostbusters 2016 flopping and leftists convincing themselves that it's due to misogyny instead of just making a crappy movie, then they do it with star wars and everything else.

Social media and the mainstream media are blatantly corrupt, and everyone is waking up to it. Let them continue to censor people, it will be their downfall if we continue to hold them to the fire for doing it.

I'm still bitter how political they made Star Trek(along with everything else). It wasn't enough that they made a white woman the captain of a starship, now they have a black woman as a captain in the latest series. I'm waiting until the following season where they will have a black transgender with 3 boobs and 2 d1cks running the ship.

Yep, Selectively omitting printed truth plus publishing lies to the public equals a propaganda level only seen in socialist banana republics, communist dictatorships, or Nazi Germany…
Time to be very concerned if these yohos aren’t reined in soon…

It's more sinister than many people see, and highly religious-driven. This is about a group, that's in it for the long haul, like millennia. They work for the goal of One day being the ONLY gene set left on Earth.

Private companies can do what they want, it's their platform and they can discriminate as they wish about what content they want to allow. You or me as a user have no right to publish through their platforms, we are just allowed to.

This is not illegal whatsoever, they own the platform, not you. It's of course unpopular for those affected by deletion, but they have every right to administrate the platforms they own as they desire.

If you want more legal protection against censorship you'll need to host your own website/platform, where you have the right to decide the content.

Should it be illegal? I say not because of the implications of it. Say you own a platform, you are legally obligated to allow others to post whatever they want and it's illegal for you to violate their right to have their opinion on YOUR website. That's kinda fvcked up, wouldn't you agree?
What if I own a bakery and I refuse to make a blantantly vulgar gay wedding cake because it's against my religion?

Oh, that's right, I'll be accused of discrimination.

But if multiple "private" social media companies act in unison on banning conservative view points, and even pressure credit card companies into dropping specific accounts, this is all well and good?

I used to think of myself as a libertarian, but then I got older and saw how private company monopolies can make life worse for the majority of us plebs.

And your best response is "go make your own social media platform." Lol ok

In my opinion you should be able to refuse making that cake, just like social media sites can refuse letting you post on them.

Say you do own a bakery, do you want a world where it would be illegal for you to refuse making a cake?

Yes, making your own social media platform is my best response because it's the only way. Anyone is free to host their own website and publish whatever crap they want, instead some people choose to b!tch and whine about websites they don't own. Say you host a website, then I come along and demand you let me publish whatever crap I want on it or I'll sue the crap out of you because apparently it's illegal to refuse, what do you think about that?

What do you suggest we do about this then?

There are differences between a small, private bakery and a worldwide social media platform. For one, the bakery will get taken to the Supreme Court for their views (effectively ruining their business), while a behemoth like facebook gets a slap on the wrist. This is a good example of how our elites give preferential treatment to monopolies. And these things actually happened, I'm not speaking hypothetically.

Your response about creating your own platform is gay because it's impossible. No small company can compete with the monopolies at this point, as they have a stranglehold and will find a way to smother you asap.

I suggest that our government pass a law that says you can't discriminate on a user based on their political beliefs lol

Problem is, they create loopholes.

e.g. disinformation. If a certain group can choose what is acceptable speech, then they can effectively ban any rational discourse.

@Serenity how do you feel about the government imposed shutdowns, which somehow only seem to benefit the monopolies, while small businesses go out of business all over the country?

Do you think this is by chance?

It's meant to curtail the spread of a pandemic but at the same time it creates pandemonium.

Governments the world over would much prefer businesses to be up and running, that's how they get their taxes or income, at the same time have a much peaceful society.

No government wants this mayhem anymore then you do.

It's just choosing the lesser of 2 evils.

It doesn't matter what it is, all that matters is that they get to contain the spread, no?
Sweden never shut their entire economy down, and their numbers are comparable to every other nation.

I'm mostly Scots-Irish with a speckle of American Indian. I can handle cold weather, alcohol, and the flu with the best of them.

@Spaz But the honest-to-god reason I'm not scared of the kung-flu is because I'm not a fatass. This virus, like any, only takes the weakeast amongst us.

I feel bad for anyone that's lost a friend or relative to it, but I would wager that they weren't in good health, and were probably on their way out sooner than later.

I've still yet to meet anyone that actually has experience with it. That is, I haven't even talked to anyone that knows anyone that had it.

Granted, I work in a rural area around a bunch of rough-necks, who all think think this sh1t is overblown. We all still shake hands everyday (which I'm not exactly a fan of, but it comes with the territory of manly work.)

I live in a medium size city, and I make a point not to put my mask on until I reach the store limits, where I have to actually wear one. Some people look at me funny from 10 yards away, and I wonder how stupid they must be.

But then I remind myself that these are the type of people that bought elixers from traveling salesmen back in the day. Useful idiots.
