Got to pay to play. I couldn't count on two hands the number of times my aunt would jackpot for over 10k at the casino. Come to find out she had embezzled close to a quarter of a mill over the years from the law firm she worked at. Not saying that some people don't just luck out and find the golden goose from time to time, but i know way more that's lost their a$$ chasing it.

But if the odds were 1 in 1,000,000 or however many number combinations of whichever lotto you are playing, buying two lotto tickets would increase your odds to 2 in 1,000,000. You could essentially spend a million dollars and guarantee a winning ticket, but it happens quite often that several people end up with winning tickets and splitting the jackpot. You would have better luck hoping that no one else chose the same numbers.

The odds of your numbers coming up have nothing to do with how many tickets you have. Each group of numbers has a probability attached to it. The fact that you'd waste your money on 999,999 losing entries doesn't change the probability of any one set of numbers.

If we assume that one ticket has a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of winning, then if you have two tickets, the odds of at least one ticket winning would be:

1 - (999,999/1,000,000)^2

=Just slightly less than 2 in 1,000,000

This is because you win unless they BOTH lose simultaneously.

Apply probabilistic luck on craigslist would be sending a randomly generated message out, like choosing quick picks. Or sending the same message out, like playing the same numbers every week.

Applying human luck (preparation meeting opportunity) would be to vary your message based on the responses you get, using a human feedback system to keep improving your odds.

When people refer to "luck" when meeting people for romance and sex, they generally mean going somewhere and lucking out on having a "target rich environment" where they maybe didn't expect it before. But that's where the luck ends and the skills begin.

Or they manage to get laid, without having any idea how, and say they "got lucky."

Even this kind of "luck" is dependent on actually having an interesting enough personality to take you from the first conversation to the bedroom.

Which of course, is also based on luck from a genetic standpoint, but is also based on using your genetics to develop an actual personality that people enjoy interacting with.

That part, of having a personality that people actually enjoy interacting with, is not helped by luck, unfortunately.

I like to use Poker (the card game) as an example.

Poker has nothing to do with luck.
Luck with give you cards in your hands and on the table.

The rest is all up to you.

If you don't believe me.. ask yourself this: If Poker is a luck game how come the top10 are always the same guys, how come the winners are often on a repeat mode (always the same)

Poker is only luck for the cards and the rest math probabilities, strong psychology and acting, good frame and making a move
